Do you have to know how to drive a stick shift for the R. Petty Driving Experience?

I've never had the opportunity to drive a stick shift and I'm wondering if that is a pre-requesite to doing the rookie experience?

I know I can do the ride along but what else could I do while husband is doing this?

Yes, you need to drive a stick shift. I did the ride along in Las Vegas. It's a lot of fun.

I'm not sure where you're from, but if you're that interested, there's a stock car driving school in Dover Delaware where they have a car with automatic transmission.
