Do you have to have proof of age?

I'm planning on going to WDW Fall 2006 just shy of my son's 3rd birthday. I understand it's free admission for 3 and under. Will we be required to show proof of age at any time?

I'd find that hard to believe, but I guess there are people who try to take advantage. I would like to know too though as we have under 3 as well! ;)

Thanks Bob! I just want to be prepared in the event I need to bring proof of his age.

Actually you have to start paying when they are three. And no they don't ask for ID. Also if you're first day in the parks is before your dc's third birthday (that is if the actual birthday falls somewhere in the middle of your trip to WDW) then you don't have to buy the little one a pass for your entire stay. The same thing goes if you have a dc who's 10th birthday (when kids start paying full adult fare) falls in the middle of your trip. hth!

Ditto what everyone else said. We took our 2 and three-quarters year old daughter and were never once asked anything by any CM at a park or at a buffet.

I have one of those HUGE children. We went when he was almost 3 and I was a nervous wreck thinking they wouldn't believe he was REALLY 3. I got a copy of his birth certificate just in case they asked, but they never did. They didn't even give him a second glance, other than to say something sweet to him. :teeth:

I had one CM give us a hard time at the entrance to MK with my tall 2.25 year old. "Where's HIS ticket?" he demanded. I retorted that he was only two years old, and he grunted and let us through.

We are going again in September for DS's thrid birthday (it is the last day of our trip) and I will again bring a copy of his birth certificate. It is easy to get and takes up virtually no space, and guarantees that I won't have any battles over DS's age.

I use to work at the disney store and we would recommend that you bring a birth cert for children under 3. I made sure to bring it when we went down when my son was under 3...as he is very tall for his age.
They never stopped or questioned me, but I was prepared, just in case. I'm one of the rather be safe than sorry type of people.

My 2 yr old is very tall and big for his age 40 inches and 39 lbs - size of an average 4 yr old. I am worried that I will be hassled for him being under 3 but looking much older. So I am going to get him a State Issued ID, that way I do not have to carry his birth certificate and worry if it will get lost, wet or ripped. Last time we went, I had an ID for DS and DN and didnt have a problem but better to have them than not. Only $15 / $20 I think

Does anyone bring proof of age for a 9 year old? We are bringing a 9 year old who is almost as tall as I am and I wouldn't want to have to pay adult rates. Should we bring some proof of age or do you think anyone will even question his age?

hi there just went last august-september with ALOT of family (for our wedding) and i had one of my aunts who has 5 children relate a story about how they did ask for documentation when they purchased tickets at the gate. her dd was 2.5 yrs and the good thing is that they came from Mexico so they had passports for everyone!!
