Do you have the Kodak Easy Share 5mp?

I am wanting to get a digital camera before our trip. Time is getting short. I have been thinking about the Kodak Easy Share. Anyone have it? Love it? Hate it? Is it easy to use? I am not that technically savy. Thanks

Just ordered one online from WalMart. It was a Friday "doorbuster", but they honored the price online tonight. Coworker, who knows about digital cameras, says its a good "point & shoot" type camera. Not too many fancy features, but nonetheless a good camera for the price.

I had to return 2 Kodak digital cameras over a 2 week period because various "plastic" pieces broke. The guy at Walmart said that although they are very easy to use, the parts are cheap & have many returns with them. I switched to Canon & have had no problems.

Bought the Kodak Easyshare DX4530 with docking station from Walmart.com as soon as the Black Friday circular came out this week.

It arrived today and it does seem very easy to use (and this is our first digital camera). It's 5.0 MP and received great reviews (amazon.com), and at $198, I'm pleased. It even allows for short video-taking with sound. Am planning on bringing it with us to WDW.

I have to agree with the cheap parts for Kodak Cameras. I have had 2 and trouble with both!! The latest is the easy share 4.0. For some reason...none known to me, my camera was stored on top of my fridge, the glass is broken in the back where you view the picture!! There is no way that my son could have got at it and it was just out of warranty..buy a week or so. Anyways, noone can fix kodak cameras except kodak!! If you want them to fix it you have to send the camera with $150.00. then they will tell you if it is more or less to fix. If it is less than $150.00 they will refund, if more, you have to pay to fix...haven't got a straight answer if I get my $150.00 back if I don't want it fixed if they call to tell me it is more. So needless to say, I am just getting a new camera...$150.00 to fix this one (at least) isn't too much cheaper than buying a new one!!

I have an older Kodak Easy Share and love it. 5 MP must be awesome resolution because I think mine is 2.2 and the pictures look great. I guess I have had it for about 4 years.
I don't use the docking station, I just use a USB connector to upload my pictures.
Another plus to my camera is it takes AA batteries. You don't have to have odd camera batteries on hand. You can use the rechargable AA batteries and the docking station will recharge them.
The thing I don't love is the software. It has some good features but I find that it takes a lot of memory... I don't even have the software loaded on my computer right now.

I have the kodak easy share 10x digi zoom and love it. Not had a problem with any parts, its been everywhere with us... amusment parks, beach,poolside...it takes awsome pictures and is very user friendly.

I currently own 2 of the "day after Turkey-day" special Kodak easy-share digital cameras from Walmart, and I really can't complain about either one too much. I purchased the first one(our first digital) 3 years ago for $200(the DC3400). It is 2 mega-pixel(I think), and it is not compatible with the docking station/charger. I purchased the CX4310 last year because it was 3.2 mega-pixel and worked with the docking station/charger. The CX model is lighter, and I like the ease of transferring photos via the docking station, but I like the photos I take with the DC model better. Since the software for the older DC model is loaded onto the computer my daughters use, I also let them use this camera. Both of the Kodaks are easy to use(if you like the point-and-shoot method of picture-taking, which is the only method I know), and the software is fairly easy to navigate, though I do prefer the software included with my hp printer for photo printing/editing. At the time I purchased my cameras, I could not find a comparable brand-name digital with as many features for the price, and I suspect that is true of the current model.

I have a 1 year old CX4230 2.0 pix and I love it! I do not have docking station either... I do have a GREAT software that I use for pic, ADOBE photoshop ... but I do find Kodak's software ok too.

I just got one of the Kodak Easy Share cameras from Walmart on Friday too. Haven't used it yet, it's our first digital so I hope it is as easy to use as some of you have said! I guess I will be crossing my fingers that it will last us quite a while. We especially wanted one before our trip in April and the sale price looked to good to pass up. Any advice on using it with the computer? What do you generally do, save your pictures onto a disk and then use that to get the photos developed from? Like I said, this is really a new thing and posting on this site it a major step for me as far as "electronics" are concerned.

We purchased the Kodak LS753, 5.0 MP camera in September. We previously had a 3.2 Kodak and the difference between the 3.2 and 5 MP is astounding! I couldn't believe how clear and crisp the photos are with the new camera. We already had the dock from the older camera, but the 753 comes with handy, credit-card sized battery charger. The battery comes out of the camera, clips onto the charger, which then plugs right into the wall. The camera itself is very easy to use and is small enough to fit into my "wallet-on-a-string", and my DH's shirt pocket. I really love this camera!!!

Stared out with a 2.?, moved up to a 3.1 and gave my 14 year old the 2.?. Got he 5.0 on Black Friday, gave my 14 year old my 3.1 and my sister the 2.?. I stay with Kodak because I alrady have the dock and all the programs loaded. Never have had a problem with my camera. The zoom is jus OK in my book, I don't think it does that great of a job. Looking forward to playing with this new one.

I just got mine! I ordered it Wednesday and got it on Friday (paid the extra $20 for express delivery as we leave for WDW on Friday!) I tried it out over the weekend to make sure it worked and that I know how to use it. It's fantastic! I bought a 128 MB memory card ($30) so now it will hold about 80 pictures on "best" quality or 8 minutes of video with sound. 80 pictures is about 3 rolls of film in a normal camera, so that's plenty since we'll be able to down load each day's photo's onto my BF's laptop each night. I also bought the camera bag with 2 extra rechargable batters and rapid charger ($40) so we'll have everything we need for the trip.

If you love point and shoot, and 3x zoom is all you think you'll need, I say it's just the camera for you!

It downloads the pictures from the camera to your computer, supposedly faster than using just a USB cable. Also, if you have rechargeable batteries, it will recharge them.

Strictly speaking, it isn't nessesary, but it's very useful.

I bought the camera at Walmart on Friday. I've been wanting this camera for a long time, and this is by far the best price I've ever seen. Haven't played with it a whole lot yet, but so far, very pleased. We'll be taking it with us in April.

We found that the new rechargeable batteries don’t fit in the quick charger that we have for our old rechargeable batteries. The old rechargeable batteries do fit in the new camera. I was able to get the Kodak quick charge with a rechargeable battery along with memory cards 256 mb off of e-bay for practically nothing. You may want to look into that. You really do need a larger memory card because the internal memory is really not enough. If you don’t have a lap top to download to you may want a few memory cards.
