Do you have any scars ? where and why

I have a big X shaped scar on the back of my left calf. A piece of angle iron ripped it open and I have near constant 'pins and needles' sensation in the foot due to the nerve damage. I was 44 when that happened and until then I hadn't had so much as a stitch. I still have my appendix, tonsils and wisdom teeth!

Too many to keep track of, three knee surgery's, hands all scarred up from 8 years of football, 12 scars from stitches after falling out of a tree through a bunch of branches, scar between the middle two fingers from headfirst slide into 3rd base in high school, a gap in my ribs on the left side from the butt of a Lacrosse stick in college when the ribs seperated, and then all the internal stuff that can't be seen mostly from the outside like seven broken nose, broken arm (Lacrosse) broken ribs, broken elbow, and broken toes (3). Oh and a head that has had stitches three times that can't be seen because of my hair.

Think that's about it but there may be more I can't see.

Oh, my right ear lob is shorter than the left because a dog bit it off and they tried to sew it back on but it did not take to well so they removed the scar tissue and it wound up shorter than the other one.

My best scar is the one on my right knee. I was about 8 years old riding my bike wearing shorts and fell on a broken Coke bottle. This was my first experience getting stitches and I was traumatized by it. It left a pretty nasty gash and the scar is still visible 50+years later. Around that same time I suffered another bike injury and one on a swingset in the back yard. And people wonder why I don't like to go outside. ;)
Aha the mystery is solved!

**Sorry about the fall BTW obviously not 'liking' the post for that reason.

I've got one from when I was a kid above my eye. I tripped over the diving board at night and fell face-first into the concrete. I probably should have gotten stitches, but we never did. It may have been minimal, but a few weeks later I ripped it right back open falling off my bike.

I've gotten several on my hands from being stupid. Well, one was a dog bite. The others involved various sharp implements like a knife, a bow saw and and electric hedge trimmers. I really need to stop doing yard work.

~The most prominent scar is on my stomach. When I was a baby I was diagnosed with pyloric stenosis. Unfortunately because it was the late 80s they weren't so big on making the scars as little as possible; for mine there's quite a bit of scar tissue behind it. It's not terrible compared to other scars people get but as far as the procedure goes nowadays they are much better at making the scar smaller/less noticable plus they've changed how they predominately do it. At first doctors thought I was just colic and fortunately my parents kept pushing the doctors every time they brought me back into the doctors. Finally they diagnosed me and got me into surgery. If not caught in time it can be fatal due to the symptoms.

~Another visible one is on my leg from shaving when I first started out.

~Then there's the one on my right index finger when I was cutting with a knife..it slipped. It's only noticable if you look real hard.

~Scars from pets's nails over the years with most being hardly noticable.

I have a huge scar on the back of my neck where they fused three of my broken neck bones after a car accident when I was 25. And a scar on my right hip where they took part of the hip bone to fuse those vertebrae.

Chicks dig scars, right? These are in order that I earned them…

Fell on some gravel, got a rock stuck in my knee that stayed there for a few weeks. It is a tiny little bump now.
Fell off a 6 foot fence and had to have 6 stiches on the back of my head. I assume there is a scar, I cannot see back there.
Feel off a jungle gym, landed on my face, bit a whole through my lip. They stitched it up nicely
Fell on a broken bottle in elementary school while playing at a construction site and cut my right hand open
Several cat scratches from playing with my cats growing up. They are on my wrists on both arms.
Ripped several fingers open on a fiber glass pool slide, got those stitched up too.
Vertical C-Section scar on my abdomen (2x, staples both times)
Scar from having a cyst removed from the thumb on my left hand
Scar from having a cyst removed on my back.
Gallbladder removal scars
Breast Biopsy Scar
Scar on my right elbow for “tennis elbow” repair
Scar on my right heel from an Achilles tendon surgery (2x as well)

I have had oral surgery a couple of time, but I don’t think those scars count since you cannot see them:
Tonsils removed
Wisdom teeth removed
1 salivary gland removed

I had an awesome childhood and happily lived to tell about it! I wanted to "thumbs up" a lot of these posts, but I just could not do it. "liking" your pain did not seem appropriate. LOL

When I was young and drunk once I tried to jump over a car and my nose did not quite make it. Then years later I got bit on the same nose by a dog. Neither is to obvious but if you look really closely you can tell I'm an idiot.

I have one large scar on my abdomen that is from 4 or 5 separate surgeries. The first was to remove 2 5lb cysts from both ovaries. 3 weeks later they reopened the incision to do a total hysterectomy as the cysts had been malignant. Exactly a year later the incision was reopened for exploratory surgery due to scar tissue. A year and then about 2 years they repeated the exploratory.
I have a huge scar on my leg that also had 2 surgeries to remove fluid & dead tissue, a wound vac and a skin graft.
One on my forehead from shingles.

I was washing the iinside of a glass and it shattered.

I did the exact same thing, except my scar is a half moon shape because I was turning the glass while my hand and the washcloth were inside. It encircles the MCP joint.

C-section scar and the corresponding stretch marks.

The weirdest one is circular on my lower inner calf. It has the imprint of the veins and capillaries in it. I got it from a motorcycle exhaust pipe that I didn't clear when putting my foot down. Since I was standing on that leg while swinging my other one over the seat, it seared the skin quite nicely in the time it took to get off the bike.

Oh, I’ve told this story here many times. The short version is I was locking up the bookstore where I worked when my customer grabbed me from behind and stabbed me.
Glad ur here to tell the story!!
Sorry to hear it tho..

Too many to name them all, my abdominal area is a total mess.

I am very fortunate to be one of the children to have a liver transplant back in the early 80s before it became the sophisticated surgery that it is today. I have a scar that goes from my sternum to my pelvis and across my abdomen with the accompanying staple scars, plus a lot of different scars for access points and drainage tubes on my abdomen, sides, arms and legs.

Knee - when I was about 8 I was waiting with my parents for my sister to come back from camp. Was running around playing when I went around a corner and a kid on a bike was coming the other direction. I ran into him and the chain dug a nice hole in my knee. Stitches followed.

C-section

About a 2 inch scar on my neck from cervical herniated disc surgery.
