Bear with me whilst I make a poll of the top 10 phobias, you can vote for as many or few as you want, or add your own to this thread. :)

Spiders are my number 1. :scared1: Heights and flying are also major phobias!

Open air heights
Elevators
the dark--yes I am scared of the dark
Spiders

I voted "other"... my fear is needles. Nothing else comes anywhere close.

True phobias...no. But I do need to take a sedative to be on a plane. I also will not go in dark, still water like ponds or open ocean. Too large a threat of water snakes, biting fish and nasty ameobas that will get you really sick. I also don't like live frogs and toads. I'm a high school biology teacher and have no problem leading a class frog dissection but the live ones hoping around give me the willies.

My fear was the dentist. Impressions absolutely freaked me out. I am happy to say that I have overcome that phobia and have had 7 impressions in the past 5 weeks. I also spent 7 hours in the dental chair a week ago Monday.

Besides FOB (fear of birds--think Flights of Wonder in AK), I can't think of anything else I'm fearing now. I have just overcome my biggest fear!! I am absolutely thrilled. :)

I have a social phobia when it comes to parties

and I'm terrified of lobsters. :scared:

I get a panicky feeling whenever I'm up high or I drive on bridges. Falling to my death is a big fear.
I also don't like water, because I can't swim, but I'll go into swimming pools or the ocean as long as I can stand up with my head above the water.

Heights..
Claustrophobia..

I don't know if it counts as a phobia, but it's mine.

I am terrified/have horrible anxiety (to the point that it's REALLY difficult) driving to unfamiliar places. I can usually talk myself through SHORT distances..tell myself it's only 3 miles..and count it down, whatever.

Freeway..forget it. I HATE HATE HATE driving on the freeway. Those high speeds majorly freak me out anymore. I had a tire blowout on the freeway with all three kids about a year ago, ever since then I can't do the freeway without doing the countdown thing. Still, that's still tough and I avoid it if possible.

Luckily, I have in a biggish city and my entire life is within a 10 mile (city) radius, so this phobia does not effect me for general living.

I am HUGELY afraid of spiders. I am also hugely afraid of bees, wasps, etc.

My biggest right now is germaphobia but that has become the worst after my 7yr old dd became emetophobic(fear of vomiting)2 years ago.I am so worried about her I try to keep everyone from getting sick.My others are planes and even driving-when I am a passenger not the driver.I know that all of mine come down to lack of control in the situation.I am a bit of a control freak:rolleyes1

I have a huge fear that my eye will get poked out. I can't have anything near my eye (whether sharp or blunt) because I just get freaked out.

Other than that, bugs. I'm okay with flies, but that's it. Any kind of bug scares me terribly.

Acrophobia, emetophobia, and mysophobia to a certain extent. They are not truly debilitating, but they are there if you look hard for them and know me well. Emetophobia is one of the main reasons why I am afraid to have children one day.

My 2 are fear of death and dead things and fear of fish. I won't go in any body of water with any fish in it. No lakes, ponds, rivers, and especially not the ocean.

I have a very strong dislike for a few of the things on the list, but my only true phobia is spiders. I'm afraid of them enough that it's become debilitating. I'll even have nightmares about them. Ewww.

I'm also afraid of heights, flying, and elevators, but I try really hard not to let those things get in the way of living my life. I do take Xanax when I fly, but I refuse to let my fear of flying keep me from going places.

I get extremely claustrophobic in the dark. I have to be really careful about dark rides at Disney. I'm OK if there's a little bit of light , but if I literally can't see my hand in front of my face, I freak out.

I also have unfortunately developed a driving phobia. I used to love to drive! It's a real handicap.I'm OK driving around town but I can't do any highway driving. I'm thinking about trying hypnosis for this because it really cramps my style.

I am affraid of tiny holes.... like when you put salt on ice... those types of holes... anything REALLY tiny... those holes in frogs that have babies on thier backs... OMG... I cant stand to see them or even to think about them..
