We're an Apple family! The only thing we don't have is an iMac, but I'm working on it!! My PC is dying..... We have 6 iPods and 2 iPhones for 4 people!!! 4 of the iPods have video capability, the other 2 are older nanos. I really should do something with the ones we don't use, but for some reason won't part with them. My son who is 8, keeps asking for an iTouch, if I get the iMac we'll get one for free, so then he'll have one.

Whenever I'm frustrated about living in the year 2009 and no flying cars yet, I remind myself I have an iPod - although my husband's is so old it's starting to look like a dinosaur!

DH and I both have 30G Video Classics, and he also had the older style square Nano for when he's working out or needs the smaller size. I totally did not understand the hype until DH got one; within 2 weeks I'd ordered my own. Mine is almost full, I'll probably pass mine along to DD when I upgrade.

I use mine all the time, especially in the car. I just pop in my little cassette adapter and enjoy my tunes. :thumbsup2

No iPods here- but we are a 5 MP3 player household. I have a Zune 120G and DH has a Zune 30G. I have an old Sansa 2G lying around, and DD has both Disney MP3 players- the Mix Stik and the Mix Max.

My brother and I got my mom a Sansa 2G for her birthday last year- we prefilled it with all her music. She is the hit of her retired friends- they are amazed at how modern she is, lol.

I don't see the big uproar over iPods- there are other brands just as good or better, IMO.

Yes, I do, as does everyone in my family. I actually have a 4th-gen nano (yellow), a 2nd-gen 16GB iPod Touch, an 80GB Classic, and a 30GB iPod Photo. The only one that's not in regular use right now is the Classic, but I do take it on trips so I can have multiple movies to choose from. Oh, and it also saved me a lot of tears after the external hard drive on which I had all of my music and movies stored died; I was able to restore at least everything that I had had on the Classic because it also acts as an external drive. As for the others, the Photo is on my iHome clock radio, so I wake up to it every morning. I use the nano in the car and at the gym and during half-marathons, and I use the Touch all day long at work, watching movies and TV shows (well, listening to them while working).

I know it sounds hyper-dramatic, but I seriously don't know what I'd do without my iPods! I bought one of the first minis to arrive in St. Louis back in 2004 primarily because it was pink and little and cute (but honestly, I'd probably buy dog poo if it was pink and little and cute  ), and have been hooked ever since. :thumbsup2

I have an ipod mini (which are discontinued) and to be honest I really don't listen to it that often or as much as I used to. I'll go through phases and listen to songs for days straight then I can go a month without using it at all.

I've had it for 4 or 5 years and I want to get a new one soon, so I can have videos on there too or the very least have a color screen! Yes, my ipod only has a black and white screen. I want either a purple or a green ipod nano.

Ooops, I voted incorrectly.

I voted no, but I do have a 4 gig card in my phone which is filled with my CD collection. Now I need to digitize my vynil.

MIkeeee

...and what's funny is that they're still selling online for more than $150 at some places! At least, the pink one is. Sometimes I consider buying one for nostalgia's sake to replace the pink mini whose LCD screen I cracked, but so far, sanity has won out. :)

I have a Zen by Creative. I won't do iPod because of their proprietary format and iTunes, neither of which I like.

I don't have one, but I'm beginning to think it's time. My friend has a little one (shuffle?) and I guess you can't search for another song while listening to one. Is there one that will hold about 4,000 songs and let you search without interrupting the song you're listening to?

Yep, any of the other models besides the Shuffle will let you do that. :) Specifically, the 16GB nano will hold around 4000 songs or 16 hours of video and runs around $200. The 8GB nano is $149 and holds 2000 songs or 8 hours of video. I have a yellow 16GB nano and absolutely love it.

We have 2, a shuffle and a ITouch.. the kids LOVE the ITouch and all want their own at the age of 3,6,8! Its amazing! I love it! Soooo many cool aps out there!

So my 30GB should be holding near 8000 songs? That makes me feel a little sheepish that it's full...of course, my iTunes is why my computer is so slow - it's eating up most of my memory at the moment!:rolleyes1

I have an iPhone (Mother's Day gift this year!) so I guess I have an iPod on there, but I haven't done anything with it yet. DD#1 (12) has an iPod Nano that we gave her for Christmas and she uses it all the time. DD#2 (7) wants one, but she's not getting one yet.

I held out with a variety of different MP3 players for years. I'm a PC girl and just couldn't see going the Apple route. I even went and bought the Blackberry Pearl when it came out, simply because I could load in the media card and use it as an MP3 player as well.

Then I started the juggling act of going back to school and working full-time. I took my stimulus check and bought the 8G nano. That and I work for Macy's and I really wanted to try the I-pod vending machine. :upsidedow I am debating going to either a classic of the 32 gig touch, but I'm questioning the expense of it all. And the memory thing on the computer, I run the I-tunes Video off a portable hard drive. I just transfer everything over every 2 weeks or so, then plug it back in when I need to update. works like a charm.

Thanks! I think I'm going to get one soon. :thumbsup2

I have the tiny video ipod but I think they stopped making it. I love it though. But when it breaks (fingers crossed not soon!!) I am buying and itouch.

We have two in our house. Mine is the original little 4gb nano and it's full. My husband has the big 30gb that plays movies, videos, games and thousands of songs. I can honestly say that his Ipod was money well spent. It has traveled around the world with him and he uses it everyday.

I love that my new car has an auxilary jack and I just plug my ipod in without having to find a clear station. Best feature in a car.

Ack, I gotta have my iPod to work out with; I just can't sit there and exercise without something to distract me :thumbsup2
