We built an inground pool last year and it is great. Although the weather here in England is pretty darn cold & wet for most of the year, we still get nice days in the summer.
Our pool is 10m x 15m and has a Certikin Liner which needs to be replaced every 10 years. Choosing a liner pool was so much cheaper than having it tiled with a mosaic. There are lots of great patterns to choose from.
We chose to have it heated using a gas boiler. This is by far the cheapest way to do it over here, Oil is just too expensive. During the summer we keep it at 90f costant. We only use it from April to September then winterize it.
I would highly recommed getting one. Although we don't use it that often, like, Tiffany said, when we do it is great. It's worth every penny when we have party's or barbecues and DS and DD are never out on hot days.
I'd highly recommend getting an automatic pool cleaner. We have a Polaris 360 which I got off of eBay for $350 brand new. It's provided amazing service and leaves the pool spotless!
