I was going through my books last night and was wondering if any of you have an "All-time Favorite". One that you absolutely love, read over and over? One from childhood? One now?

Just curious :)

I have a lot of favorites, but there are only two I read every summer, without fail - Gone With the Wind and Scarlett (the sequel.)

The entire Little House on the Prairie series. I have read them over and over and over and over and over and over.........

Get my point??..........:p P

My absolute favourite is "The Brothers Karamazov", by Fyodor Dostoyevsky. I read it a few years ago when I was trying to get a couple of classics under my belt and fell in love with it. I re-read it every few years.

Wuthering Heights
The Green Mile

and just NOW i'm going to read The CHronicles of Narnia

To Kill a Mockingbird. I've read it once a year since I was 12 and I still cry when Scout walks Boo home at the end.

Makes you laugh, makes you cry, and all the characters feel like family.

I also love Little Women for the same reasons.

What is yours MickeysMommy. You posted the thread and never said.

Mine is LaVerne's Spencer Morning Glory (Glory's). Everytime I go to Door County in Wisconsin and we drive down into Fish Creek and see the General Store I look for the characters in the book.

I've re-read the Clan of the Cave Bear series probably 15 times. The earlier ones are better though. Book 2 is probably my very favorite!

Mine is my favorite from when I was a little girl. You can't laugh..or you cant tell me if you did! I LOVE the Big Orange Splot. I read that book over and over. Even now, i read it to my 3yo and I love it.

There were a few others..the first book I ever cried in was Bridge to Teribithia (sp?)

For serious literature, mMy all time favorite is To Kill A Mockingbird.

For a light read, I love "Bridget Jones' Diary". I've read it about 20 times and never tire of it. :)

Any of the Harry Potter books. I've lost count how many times I have read them all!!

Sorry about not posting mine. I hit "Submit thread" before I wanted to.

I have a few favorites including Little House on the Prairie Series, Little Women, anything by Fern Michaels and I also love LaVyrle Spencer's books.

Another vote for To Kill a Mockingbird. I don't think I could ever get tired of reading this book. I guess that is a good thing since I make my senior GED students read it. There are so many lessons in this book.

it's hard to pick just one!

"Anna Karenin"- Tolstoy

"The Handicapper General" Kurt Vonnegut Jr.:sunny:

I preferred "Exodus" but "Mila 18" was good, too.

I really loved "Jane Eyre", but I hated "Wuthering Heights" --- how I could love one Bronte and hate the other...???

as a kid, my favorites were the "Little House" series, the "black Stallion" series and the "all of a Kind family" series.

How could I forget Harry?!? I love all the Harry Potter books too...I'll probably keep posting as I remember :p
