All I'm getting for Xmas from *everyone* is $$ towards my whirlpool I've always wanted, but never had room for. Now I'm going crazy looking at all the different models, trying to decide what's best, since it's going to cost almost as much as a WDW vacation! I'm on the Pooh size (ahem), so want something fairly wide, and am tall, so need something fairly long. How do I decide how many jets, shape, horsepower, etc? If you love/hate what you have, tell me why, please!?!?!
TIA

My whirlpool tub is taking a water fan and sticking it in the water, so I can't help.

But I envy you. I bet that will be so great. Enjoy it when you get it.:D

I don't have a whirlpool, but do have a big tub. We run out of hot water! Make sure you have a heater or a super big hot water tank.

Ours came with the house. My advice is to be very, very certain that you want this. I have used it 2X in 8 years and my DH has used it maybe 6X. The kids like it, though.

We use our hot tub all the time, though. That was definitely a better investment than a tub w/b for us.

is adding another hot water heater in the basement. One thing I know I'm adding is a thingie (how's that for technical) that helps keep the water warm after it's in the tub (cuz if I pay all this $$ I want my water hot for a looooong time!).

Fess us you whirlpool owners, what do you have and how do you like it?

mom with whirlpool tub, dad with outside hot tub. It's selfish of me, but I want the whirlpool so I can *escape* from the family, whereas if I had a hot tub DS would be in there "having fun" with me constantly! As it is, he thinks grandma's whirlpool is Stormalong Bay!

Mine came with the house too so I don't know much about it. It has two jets on the back and three jets on each side. I like mine and I use it a lot. I just don't know any of the technical stuff about it though...sorry.

We have one, I think it's Kohler. It's very nice, but I don't use it as much as I would like. I just don't seem to have the time. I do like ours because the jets are adjustable.

As far as size, we just got the biggest, deepest one that would fit in the space allowed. I would say the most important thing is to make sure the floor underneath is reinforced, because when they are filled they are extremely heavy. Also, go for the porcelain, not the plastic. They are easier to clean. Good luck!

Jill, DH is already having fits about the weight issue, I think he imagines it'll pull our "quaint" old farmhouse into more of a lean than it already has! Anyone else?

If that's the case, Terri, make sure you put the tub on the side of the house that is elevated. It should bring everything plumb again.:smooth:

When we added a full bath, we had a two person Jacuzzi whirlpool tub installed. It's in the shape of a large triangle.

It has 4 powerful jets that do a great job. We don't use it as much as we'd like, but I don't regret putting it in.

Our's is fiberglass, and I have no problem keeping it clean. We never, ever use any soaps, bubble bath or oils while in the tub. It's strictly for soaking and relaxing.
:) :) :) :)
