Do you have a weighted blanket? Pros? Cons?

I've been considering purchasing a weighted blanket for a while now.

If you have one, do you like it? What brand is it? What brands or features are good and which aren't? How much should the blanket weigh?

I’m under mine right now. I love it. Can’t remember the brand but I think mine weighs 20 lbs? I don’t sleep with mine because I roll around too much. But there’s nothing better than snuggling under it in the couch. I miss it while I’m at work.

I know somebody who has one. It is 15 lbs. I guess it's an interesting feel, however it seems a bit heavy when trying to fold it etc...

My adult son has one and absolutely loves it. I tried sleeping with it once and while I like the feel, it became a bit too smothering for me. Though I think it’s something that may take a while to get used to. What I have heard is if you like the feel of the x-ray shield at the dentist, then it might be good for you. The rule of thumb is that it’s supposed to be around 10% of your body weight.

The only con I can think of is that you can’t wash it in a machine. Some brands sell matching duvet covers.

I have a 15 lb one. I’ve had for it for a year. I love it but...
1. It gets so hot! I’m always cold and even I can’t use it except for super cold nights
2. The outer cover comes off for washing, and it is so hard to put back on.

I bought one last Black Friday. I love sleeping under blankets so that means I love weight but I found these hard to move around when switching sides in the middle of the night. My daughter LOVES hers.

I do not have one. The idea of sleeping under a weighted blanket has zero appeal to me.
I envision being smothered to death. I keep my feet uncovered at the end of my bed, since I don't like them pinned under covers.
I asked DH if he was interested in one....no way for him either.

Guess we all like different things!

I bought one because I got an amazing too-good-to-be-true deal on it. I really expected the order to be canceled. I wasn't sure I'd like it (but figured one of my kids would like it if I didn't.) I like it a lot more than I thought I would and my daughter LOVES it.

Mine is 15 pounds. They're ideally supposed to be about 10% of your body weight. I would have preferred a 12 lb one, but they didn't have the deal on that one.

Mine is Quility brand. It comes with a washable cover. I haven't washed it yet, but it's kind of unwieldy, so I'm not looking forward to trying to put it back into the duvet.

My daughter has put one on her Christmas list. I asked my college-age son if he wanted one. He said "I'd better not. If I do, I might not get out of bed for my morning classes!"
