I am having the big debate buy one or rent. I would love to see a pic. of one of the rented double strollers. Can you help.

In March our dd was 2.5 and I took our Maclaren. I wish I hadn't drug it down there! We ended up renting one the last 3 days of our trip. It made it so much easier not having to lug it on the buses but having it in the parks. I have some pics but unfortunately no way to post them right now. They are different at the parks though. We liked the ones at MK and Epcot better than MGM.

This is my nephew, who is 5, in a double stroller at MK. He insisted he didn't need/want one, but it was great when he was tired.

We just returned and rented a double stroller the entire week for one child. The other half was for our backpack etc. We did say that if next year we bring our niece we would rent two doubles and again use the extra space.

All of the strollers were immaculate however we found the strollers at MGM to be older so they appeared a bit more worn. We rented for the entire week up front and that made the day start a bit easier. Once you have entered a park for the day and you have your stroller stub stamped, you only need to show your stamped stub at the next park should you go to more than one that day or leave and return.

In Magic Kingdom one day, we decided to take the train to the other side of the park after renting the stroller. We were told to leave our stroller at the main station and pick up another stroller at one of the other stations that were empty. You can tell which ones are empty as the name tags are gone. This worked great.

Thanks for this thread, we're going through the same debate. We have a four year old and a one year old (13 months at time of trip). We used the single stroller for DD4 before, just not sure if DS1 will be comfortable in the molded plastic? Any opinions, please let me know! Also, someone posted an alternative idea: www.abbf.com rents strollers (including doubles) and drops them off at your resort free of charge. It's cheaper than renting Disney strollers, but I'm worried about someone ripping it off and leaving me to pay for the stroller replacement!

I don't think I would rent one that was delivered to the hotel. For me the hassle of transporting the stroller along with everything else is not worth it. But I don't have two children and if I did that may change my decision. The buses are crowded at the end of the day so having a stroller on board may be more hassle than what is it worth.

One evening while waiting for the fireworks at MK, I actually got into the stroller with my DD...it was entirely selfish, I was cold and wanted to cuddle. Believe it or not...it wasn't that bad. Except for my legs hanging over the side! My DD fell asleep in the stroller each day (like the pic of the boy below).

I agree!! Big ones say that they do not want the stroller, but they do not complain much at the end of the day!!!!

We rent from A Baby's Best Friend a lot, and it is no hassle. Quite the contrary, it is nice having the strollers all the time, not just in the parks. Several times we will take the young ones to do something off property and it is nice having a comfy stroller with us. They fold nicely and are very convenient.

As for the stealing, I asked the same question to the nice folks at ABBF. They advised in over 8 years they have never had one of their strollers stollen. . . so that was good for me.

Hope this helps. Two thumbs up for ABBF: They make our visits much more enjoyable. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
