I have always wanted a pet named after a Disney character. A few years ago, we adopted a dog from our local shelter. I wanted to name him Pluto. However, he was almost a year old and wouldn't come to the new name. So, we kept his old name.

This past year, a stray cat in the neighborhood adopted us. I took "it" to the vet, we weren't sure yet if it was a boy or girl. When the vet said it was a girl, I knew her name immediately. She was sweet as can be, just like "Minnie". I finally have my "Disney pet".

My daughter always wanted a cat. She said she would name it Stitch. We got one from a Disney CM. He had been abused by the first owner and the second owner couldn't handle him. His name was Stitch. It was meant to be. :)

Not a Disney pet, but we had two cats and two fish that I named Connie, Fredo, Sonny and Michael. Which of course made me the "Godfather"!

As quoted by Stacy on her Top 7 Must See's.....

"Let me tell you about a little thing called Wishes"

He even has 2 Hidden Mickey's on his side, does not show them the best in this picture. Trust me, he gets away with everything because of those Mickeys. We needed a Disney name and he was born around Christmas and as soon as we saw him at PetSmart with the Mickey's....we were wishing and wishing we would get him.

My family got a new dog almost 2 years ago. Before we got her we picked a list of 6 names, all Disney characters 3 boys and 3 girls. Then we kind of knew right away which one was right for her.

"Daisy"

I named both of my grandma's dogs, with a bit of convincing. Her late cocker spaniel was blond in color, and her name of course was Nala. Her current dog, and black lab/golden retriever received the name Jasmine. :cutie:

Our last name lends itself to us being called the Nemos. So in keeping with the family, we named our cat Marlin.

Lily short for Tiger Lily - our female snoodle
Max - a white terrier
a goat named Dory
our steers were named Zeke and Zeb and Ted and Fred and one named Tennessee

We had two rats now just one as Emile has passed and though we still have Remy, he is very eldery for a rat. Love him though!

Our dog is named Mickey. Before we adopted him I was thinking about naming him Stitch, but my husband thought he looked more like a Mickey.
His former name also ended in ey, so he easily learned his new name.

We have 5 dogs and 5 cats (not all Disney names). I will start with the dogs they are all rescues. Grace 12y & Lillie 11y (yorkies), Casey 6y (chihuahua) and Abbie 8y (chug (pug/chihuahua mix).I can't forget my son's puppy Lucky. She is 8mnths old and almost 40lbs. The cats are George, Mama Max, Jack Jack & the newest is Elizabeth Swan. Kids call her E.

We have a black lab we named Jasmine-because Jasmine the princess has black hair, too.;) We mostly call her Jazz or Jazzy though.

We had a cat for 17 years named Woody. Since I am a big Disney fan, most people assumed he was named for Toy Story's Woody- but we got him 5 years before Toy Story came out. He was named for President Woodrow Wilson, and we shortened it to Woody.

We have 3 cats now, and they are named for Harry Potter characters- Purrcey (Percy Weasley, Ron's older brother), Lily (Lily Potter, Harry's dead mother), and GiGi Hufflepuff (GiGi isn't a HP name, but Hufflepuff is for the Hogwarts school house). I guess we have Universal IOA cats...

Our Disney-named pets have both gone to Rainbow Bridge, but we had a Tigger-cat and my folks had a cat named Tinkerbell (called 'Tink'). Tigger came from the pound with his name. We liked it, so it stayed. His rapper alias was 'Notorious T.I.G'. :thumbsup2

No Disney named cats right now. Unless there's a Curley, Freckles or Martha Mayhem I'm not thinking of... :confused3

we have a chippy in the back yard that my daughter calls chip and we spend 10 bucks a month on sunflower seeds for...................does that qualify????????....the way i see it.......i am going to his place for the winter.

My Brody Baby has a hidden mickey on his head and I was going to name him Mickey because of it but Brody fit him better - and Mickey was what everyone called my grandmother so it would have been confusing at family functions.

looks more like an anteater to me:rotfl2:.....grandaughter puts 3 cheerios together and starts screaming........

We adopted a yellow lab who was in an animal control facility. He looked completely out of place... super friendly, not shy or withdrawn at all.... Dug is the perfect name as he loves everyone... and a fast learner. And he bonded with us very quickly. Was afraid to go in the water that was deep enough to require him to swim... After just a few weekends of gradual exposure, he is swimming like any other lab...
