Do you have a "never again" list? Which restaurants are on it and why?

Actually, we're now trying to extend our stay until the 12th, so we probably will be crossing paths.

We are keeping our Biergarten ADR, despite the bad reviews. Same with Akershus and Boma. We're only on the regular DP, so we want to stick with 1-point restaurants...plus, we like different types of food. We're not really into servers who are putting on a show, like at WCC or '50s Primetime, so that's why we originally didn't get ADRs there. Now I'm kind of glad. I'm a little worried about Sci-Fi, but we'll see how it goes.

If you like shrimp, the Shrimp pasta is delicious. Also, you have to try the onion rings-they are so good!

1) Akerhaus - Can't eat at a place that only has princess interaction.
I would go back if they had a special NON Character dining event there.

2) Hollywood and Vine - Really the blandest Disney Buffet ever, it isn't special at all.

3) Rainforest Cafe at the AK, overpriced and not that great food, the menu sounds great, the food isn't.

4) ABC Commissary - Why don't they put in a decent counter service in DHS?

----

Less Honorable Establishments I will go to when requested by others:

Whispering Canyon Cafe - I will not put it on my need to go list, but would agree to go if someone else wanted to. But this place does not deserve the name WHISPERING, it should be the SCREAMING BACK Canyon Cafe.

Ohanas is a favorite among some friends and family, so I will return there when they want to go back, which is often. But don't go there after 9 PM, the service sucks often, and the food is over cooked. Ask for the steak rarer if they have it.

Boma's choices have gone downward, even the desserts don't seem as good as they used to be. Breakfast is okay, Dinner gets more and more disappointing as I return each time.

Rose and Crown, this is not real British Pub Food, and the Fish and Chips are better at the Take Out Window?

Nine Dragons: P.F. Chang's could do a better job than this place.

San Angel Inn: Any USA national Mexican chain beats this place.

All WDW Pizza, I haven't tried the new EPCOT Italian place yet.
Is the pizza so bad in WDW because they use the local water in preparing the dough?

---

Places I repeat often:

Earl of Sandwich, this place needs to be expanded into DHS, I don't care if they have higher prices. The other DHS Disney Counter services need to understand what "competition" is all about.

Pizzafari: Decent Italian Sandwich, always satisfies my craving.
Pizza is not the worst in all of WDW, but I still don't like it.

Crystal Palace: I like lunch better for the added assortment of cold items.
Thrilled to see some cold cuts, cold salads, cheeses for a lunch buffet.
Very good selection of Desserts.
Breakfast is good, Dinner is Okay. How can you not like Tigger?

Dolphin's Fresh Mediterranean, Great Breakfast cooked right in front of you.

Beaches N Cream: Good Diner food. They should clone this place with another name and put it inside DHS.

Just so you know... I LOVED the Biergarten, as did my mother. We enjoy German food, make it all the time at home using my great grandmother's recipes, and I have actually been to Germany. So I really enjoyed it.

One thing to remember on posts like these. The question is where will you never return... so that is what people will post. I am sure, no matter the restaurant, there are people who have had perfectly good meals and experiences at every place listed. These sorts of posts support the negative experiences. One needs to go themselves to make their own minds up.

Chef Mickey's for dinner. While the character interaction was good, the place was filthy! :scared:

Crystal Palace for dinner.
The food was just okay. Seemed like we had to fight our way to the buffet for just okay food. Seemed like we were constantly waiting for people and CM's to move so we could reach the buffet and same thing to get back to our table. By the time we got back to our table, the food was cold. Characters didn't spend hardly anytime with my DD6. They seemed like they were in a hurry. They only stopped once with enough time to get one picture. The second time around, we were either ignored or just waved to as they sped by. We didn't like it the 1st time but decided to try again since most here on the boards love it but we won't be going back.
I don't like to feeling rushed during my meals, or that I or my family is not worth the time of the characters. I am sad to say I spent my birthday dinner here and was totally disappointed. :sad2: We have done many character meals and many buffets and have never had a problem.

Ours is a favorite arond the boards but Le Cellier is me and DH's. The food is terrible except I will say the creme brulee and the pretzel sticks.

I would think that with so many of you complaining about so many restuarants that it would be easier to get reservations. The only place that we didn't feel we got our monies worth was H&V for breakfast on our last trip. Food was fine but it was really noisy and the characters didn't spend a great deal of time at our table.

That's really a shame. DH and I do not have kids either and we love character meals. We are both in our mid-30's. I will say, that while we have had good experiences at character meals, I did notice a big difference last summer when our friends were with us with their DS. The characters were much more engaging. Hopefully someone is reading this thread and will remember Walt's philosophy!

The funny part is that the staff and the characters were more engaging when I was on my solo trip in 2006, then they were when we were on our honeymoon last year.

I don't know about never, that is a long time, but if I had to pcik one it would be ABC Commissary. The last time we were there was 4 years ago but the food ws so bad we felt sick. I actually complained to the manager who seemed so overwhelmed and agreed the food was just bad and refunded what we would have spent had we not used credits. I might go back at some point, but I am in no hurry to that is for sure!
As for why ADRs are still hard to get, everyone has different preferences. We love Chef Mickey's, others hate it. We wern't thrilled with the food at Cali Grill. I might go back someday, but probably not. It wasn't bad, just wasn't that impressive and for the money, we can think of lots of places we'd like to go.

Chef Mickey for dinner. The food is horrible and not to mention way overpriced.

Favorite place is Crystal Palace. Love the food and selection every time.

I will add Whispering Canyons to my "never again" list. I was told that we definately had to go there from everyone that we talke to about Disney. Not only was the food disappointing but the whole experience left me wondering what other people had experienced and what I must have missed. It was expensive too considering we had to order off the adult menu for my very finicky 12 year old daughter.

I have quite a few that I'm not to anxious to try again, but the only places so bad I will never eat at again are Chef Mickey's (breakfast and dinner) and San Angel Inn (dinner 3 times). Food was equally bad each time. At least the service was good at Chef Mickey's.

My mother ate at Tony's about 15 years ago and still talks about how bad it was. Her quote was "they threw a sara lee pizza into a microwave and then dumped it on our plates". I imagine it has changed a little since then but I doubt you could get her to walk into the place.

Raglan Road is ours. We read about it being the hidden gem and we wish we would have kept it hidden.
Our food wasn't that good, and our service was the worst on property. It is on our NO list.
