Do you have a laundry room?

My washer and dryer are in one end of my kitchen. They are separated from the rest of the kitchen by folding doors. My laundry tub is in the basement. There are shelves above the machines and along the side. The convenience is great.

I like the idea of a separate room, but when we built we were saving every inch of space and decided to have a big kitchen instead of a separate laundry room. I love the descriptions that I read in this thread. The separate room at the back or garage entrance, with room for hanging damp laundry as well as hooks for hanging coats.

I have a separate laundry room - I can't imagine not having it! If it gets really piled up, I can just shut the door! It's downstairs near our garage door entrance. I have enough room in there for my deep freezer too, and it makes a great "folding table" for all my laundry. I have cabinets that line the wall above the washer and dryer, which I use to store cleaners, lightbulbs, iron, flashlights, other misc. household stuff. It also has a sink, which is nice and useful since it's right next to the garage. I keep my vacuum behind the door, and my ironing board mounts on the wall behind the door as well. It also serves as the place where I put my cat's food and water - next to the freezer. I love it!

Our laundry room is about 8x15. When the previous owners renovated the kitchen they put the old kitchen cupboards into the laundry room so I have a ton of storage space in the laundry room. I think overall the floor space is fine but I would have liked it a little more square since there isn't a lot of floor space between the washer/dryer and the counters on the other side of the wall. Ideally I would love a laundry room that was about 11x14 with cabinets and counterspace that went all around the room and then and island of sorts in the middle to fold clothing onto. The cabinet space around the rest of the room could be used for doing crafts, sewing machine, etc.

We have a pretty big mud room/laundry room. It's on our main floor. We have a full size fridge in there, a utility sink, our Lab's pen, and of course the washer and dryer. It's got a full size closet too that I just keep odds and ends in but I'm thinking of making that another pantry and keeping my canned goods in there.

Just big enough for washer and dryer and clothes rack. I would love one bigger but ours is the stander size for a townhouse around here and on the path tot he 1/2 bath on the first floor.
