Do you have a gift closet?

With the Christmas shopping thread I got to wondering if Im the only one who does this? I shop all year long so I have a gift closet that I keep everyones gifts in.

I love it! I also stock up on things that I know my friends will like ( bath stuff stationary etc) and keep them in there for last minute pick me up gifts.

Closet in the guest bedroom has Christmas gifts/birthday gifts in it. THere is a spot in the basement for "emergency gifts" (like trinkets I pick up and save for those times when I might need a gift)

I'm more the "Ohmygosh!-Tomorrow ( and sometimes today) is so-and-so's birthday I have to run out and get a gift and card" kind of person.

I stock up when I find a good deal but I have the stuff stashed everywhere so I usually can't find it when I need it.

We don't have THAT much closet space. But we do shop throughout the year, and keep it all in plastic totes under the basement stairs.

I have a gift room. Half of it are for wrapped and unwrapped gifts and the closet is for the wrapping paper and extra boxes. The other half of the room houses the kids' Little Tikes kitchen and toys.

P.S. Most of the gifts I have bought for Christmas are already wrapped.

I have a gift attic. Along with the normal stuff in attics, I have big boxes for gifts.

I'm done with Christmas shopping... so I have a spare room at Grandmas I keep my stash. I have actually started on Christmas 2003 shopping now. I LOVE Target clearance sales.. it has to be at least 75% off before I will buy anything.

Sure do! My friends all think I'm nuts until they suddenly need a last minute gift and come running down to my house to see what they can grab from my gift closet. LOL!

My closet is FULL of kids' toys and I have a few adult gift items sprinkled in also. With 2 kids, I'm constantly needing birthday party gifts.

I also start my Christmas shopping for the following year in January. It really helps to do a little here and a little there, and save SOOOO much money by picking up good deals I find througout the year instead of doing it all in November and December. I have all of my kids' Christmas shopping done and I'm almost finished with the rest of my family's. My goal every year is to have it finished by the end of October.

Not for Christmas but for the everyday things likes birthdays, baby and bridal showers and the like.

I shop sales and craft fairs and pick up stuff. Keeps it stocked and at the ready for when I go blank and forget about the invites/party notices.

I don't but my best friend does and her son thinks gifts magically come out of it. He saw a toy commercial one day and asked for it..she told him he had to put it on his Christmas list and he said "Just get it out of the closet Mommy". LOL

I keep TRYING to start one but I'm awful at it.

I too have gift "plastic bins." I don't make a point of filling it, but buy things when I see something that makes me think, "____ would LOVE this" and it's a good price. So, there's not a whole bunch of stuff, and I often forget that I have things saved up for people!

I lucked out this year! My parents recently moved down the road from us into a 2 bedroom townhouse. Upstairs is a bedroom, full bath and attic space. I use the attic space for gifts. I recently bought a couple of storage boxes and I'll put different names on them so I'll know what is what and whose. My folks recently bought a lock for the outside to keep my kids out. It has worked well since I no longer have to hide things around here.
