Do you have a first day tradition?

I am sure that this has already been posted but do you have a first day tradition at WDW?

We always arrive at the Poly or GF early in the morning and head to the MK. After arriving in the MK we head straight to Adventureland and watch the Tiki Birds. After Tiki Birds and POC we usually head to Tony's for lunch. I don't know why, but we have been doing this for the last 10+ years. Do you have any first day traditions?

We always head to MGM on our first day there and do ToT. It gets you pumped up for the rest of the trip.

We always go to MK on the first day and try to head for the Haunted Mansion. One trip we took and it was closed, I swear it just did not feel like a real Disney trip to me.

No matter what we do the first day at WDW, the first evening is always devoted to Illuminations.

we always relax the first day we arrive "home" by lounging by the pool watching everyone have a great time at Disney. We get up early the next morning and head out to the parks.

I have to see the castle and ride Jungle Cruise first off or it just isn't right. this goes for trips to both Disneyland and WDW. So no matter what else we do it is a stroll down Mainstreet and then left to the Jungle Cruise first and foremost.

After we check in, we always have a nice dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse, watch the fireworks from the Boardwalk, and head back to the room. The first day at the parks is always MK where we take the train to Splash Mountain right away.

This would've been my reply word for word! Both WDW and DL!

For me, I have to see the castle. All is right with the world then. Next it is off to Buzz Lightyear! DS's contribution. :)

We go to Epcot first day. Regardless of dinner plans, we always hit Downtown Disney the first night for ice cream and some shopping.

Of course, this first night, we don't get in until 11:00PM, so I don't count that day.

We check into our resort and head to MK. If DS is with us, our first stop is usually Buzz.

First day has to be MK, getting the photo of us w/the castle, then off towards Tomorrowland. First dinner is Liberty Tree Tavern!!

We usually arrive late (around 10pm for this next trip). So that day doesn't really count. We ALWAYS go to MK first. After the walk down Main Street actvities may vary. Sometimes it's off to Tomorrowland; other times its straight thru the castle and on to Fantasyland; even have done Adventureland first a time or two. The most important thing is just getting to MK

Ever since we started renting a car we have a last day tradition. On our last day (after we check out) we head over to Disney-MGM Studios (it all started when I wanted to pick up a book I had seen in the Villain Shop). We have lunch at the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater, and after lunch head off to the airport to catch our flight.

On our last trip I saw a "police officer" on Sunset Blvd. I went up to him and told him we were leaving for the airport and I didn't want to go. I asked him to arrest me so I would miss my plane.

He didn't arrest me, but he did give me a citation.

(you gotta love some of the violations)

Go to pool and relax and watch illuminations at night.

My DS,8, informed us on the plane this past Sept. for our first trip that "nobody is eating until we hug Mickey!"...so we checked in at POP, headed to MK and Mickey greeted us outside. Then we headed to Casey's for a dog...thank goodness, as our tummys were about to digest themselves!

We plan to do the same this October!!!

We always arrive the previous day and ""check in to our hotel" at 8:00 am so we can do a full day at MK.

Scheduling a late lunch at Crystal Palace amidst all the craziness of the MK is a great way to relax after a stressful start, have some nice food, and be entertained by some loveable characters.

Then we can get a good spot for the parade or move on over to the next park in the afternoon.

We check in, get settled in the room, and head to the pool! We arrive mid-afternoon so a nice swim always fits into our plans...then dinner. The next day, we hit the parks.
