Do you have a backup for every ADR when you call?

I'm having a hard enough time figuring out my front runners. How the heck am I going to figure out my backups? LOL!

Or do you just try to get the ones you want on any day despite your park plans?

We plan which parks we will be at on which days, then which ADR's we want based on that schedule. If we want a ressie at a restaurant that is hard to get (ie Le Cellier) we will have a backup in mind. Having said that, we are also pretty flexible on our ADR times. I may want 6 pm, but I'm open to anything between 5 and 7. When I sit down to make our ADRs I have a list ready. First choice, second choice and times. If you can't get the ADR you want, make one for your backup choice, then think about calling back another day. ADRs get cancelled and you may be able to sneak in to your first choice that way !

There are exactly 3 ADRs that I had backup plans for - Cinderella's Royal Table (The Plaza as a backup), Chef Mickey's (Wave as a backup), and Le Cellier (Tutto Italia as a backup). The first two I only made backup plans for because I called to book them at 90 days out even though they'd still been booking 180 out. As it turned out, the only one I needed the backup for was Le Cellier and that was only because I wasn't happy with the availability they had (we're a party of 6 and could only get an ADR to be seated as 2 groups of 3).

Le Cellier is the only reservation I've had a hard time getting in the past, calling around mid-day on the first day of our booking window, so it is usually the only one I have a backup in mind for.
