Do you hate to have your picture taken?

Last night we had HAD to go to the Youth Group Luau at the church. (remember dh is a minister). It was $15 a person! Ouch! Anyway, we went...my parents came to watch our kids. I've been sick for 2 months and didn't feel all that well last night.

So the youth group leader asks, did you get your picture taken?
No
Why not?
I don't like pictures.
Come on, it will be fun.
No
You have to,
Ok, then I already did it, you missed it.

She then proceeds to tell all the youth group kids to ask me if we had our picture taken!
I told them all YES!
(dh went up and his taken, in the grass skirt he was forced to put on. )

Why do some people have to be so annoying?

Later in the evening, they dragged dh out to learn the Hula. Next annoying conversation with the same person.
Don't you want to dance?
No
Why not?
I don't like to dance.
What do you do for fun?
watch TV
C'mon, seriously what do you do for fun?
I like to be alone in my own house.

She wandered away!

Ugh! Why do some people have to be so annoying?

And for the record, I don't like having my picture taken, even when I'm NOT sick!


btw - - the average age at the Luau was 70, if the 4 of us under 40 wouldn't have been there, it would have been 80!

People like that get on my nerves too, but I just have to remind myself that more than likely they are just trying to help.

I HATE to have my picture taken too, especially if I know anyone else will ever see it.

Hi. My dear MIL hated to have her picture taken. She has been gone now for 5 years and I really don't have any pictures to show to her grandsons. I wish she would have let us take a few just to pass on to future generations. I do hate it when people get in my face and just snap the picture without any warning, I always look terrible in those.

Of the hundreds of pictures I have taken and posted here on the DIS, everybody, almost without exception, hates their own picture, yet almost everyone, without exception, likes everbody else's picture. Me included for the most part, though I am not in too many, usually taking them, LOL. Why is that?? Does anybody like their own looks??

Dan, to answer your question, no I don't like how I look... especially in candid shots.

Dan, some people are photogenic others are not! My dh looks good in almost every picture ever taken of him. I on the other hand do not. Why? I have no idea. He even agrees that most pictures of him are good.

I am in some pictures but I really hate "posing" for a shot.......unless of course Mickey Mouse is there with me.

I really hate having my picture taken. There are very few of me in the last decade or so. I simply am not photogenic at all. I wish I was though.

I'm not photogenic either.

My grandmother hated having her picture taken, and as a result, I have so few pictures of her. For that reason alone, I do let people take pictures of me, but I never like how they look.

My guess as to why people don't like to see pictures of themselves is because they are used to seeing themselves only in a mirror. When they look at a picture of themselves, they see what others see and not what they're used to looking at.
