This thread isn't being started to get all the cat lovers upset. Its just a place for people to voice their "dislike" (and thats putting it lightly for me) of cats. I just find cats to be sinister and evil. I am allergic to them. They leave their hair everwhere! They make the entire house/appartment smell because of their litter box. I could go on forever. I just don't care for cats. Other cat haters discuss......

Well I don't exactly HATE them per-sae, but I strongly dislike them. I think they're cute, they're just not my thing. Dogs are. LOL

i don't hate cats but they seem to hate me. it is weird because i have never met a dog that i couldn't get along with.

I used to dislike them because I was afraid of them, but I like them now.

I got mauled by a cat when I was little.

Wow, you must be having a boring day to start this thread. :rotfl:

BTW, cats are not evil. Their litter boxes do not smell if kept clean. I prefer my cat to many people I know.

I love cats but some people just don't and that's okay. Just like you either hate or love dogs!

Well it's a good thing that the world has dogs. Since we all know that no dog has ever shed. And all dogs smell like flowers.

Actually I had a cat who came on to my lap everytime I sat down so she was ok. My other cat was only good for shining my shoes when I kicked her :rolleyes1 (JUST KIDDING. I've never kicked a cat...)

45 down 25 to go.

I HATED cats until my evil MIL ( :maleficen) gave my dd one for her birthday (to punish me). Funny thing is that my Nala kitty is the most adorable animal. She was 6 weeks old when we got her and she was practically raised by my dachshunds and labrador puppy. I think that she feels like she is a dog. She never jumps on counters or winds around your legs. She does the occasional "walk by lick" on the leg just like my dogs and she is always waiting at the door to say hello when I get home from work.

I don't like other people's cats though.

Again, this thread isn't intended to upset all the cat lovers. I'm just saying that I don't like cats and that there are probably plenty of others who don't care for them either. :)

I used to dislike cats mainly because I was allergic but also because my grandmother had the meanest cat ever. She not only terrorized me when I was little but also every human except for my grandmother (even grownups.) My mom was feeding her once when Gram was out of town and the cat snuck up behind her and scratched the backs of her legs. :teeth: See, mean cat.

Anyway--then I met DH. He had a beautiful Siamese named Pasha and, frankly, that cat did not give me a chance to dislike her. :teeth: She'd follow me everywhere (even the bathroom) and always wanted to sit with me. I'd dope myself up on Benadryl and deal with it because she was so sweet.

When DH and I moved in together, we had to find another home for her because dd is also allergic and cats really trigger some terrible asthma attacks for her. DH had a friend whose cat had recently passed away so we found a great home for her and we visit her when we go back to New Mexico.

I love dogs, but these days I prefer to share my home with four felines. they are far more interesting.

you don't like them...your loss.

I will agree with the post above. I don't like other people's cats but I love mine. I love my cat, Ruthless, but her shedding drives me crazy. I now vacumm every day. I also disinfect the kitchen counters as soon as I get home because I know she walks all over them while I am at work. I also spend a fortune on kitty litter because I change her box every three days. I know I could get that scoopable litter but the idea of scooping poop doesn't appeal to me. I just use the liners and quickly tie up the mess. Makes cleaning pretty easy. She may be high maintenance but I still love her :sunny:

I don't hate them I'm just scared of them. While I was growing up my neighbor had a Siamese cat that was beautiful, but climbed over our fence and hissed and even bit in the back of the ankle a few times.

Then my sister got a cat and when she was sick and needed things done around the house I used to go into her basement and the cat would hide and jump out at me. It did manage to bite me one time while I was running up the stairs.

My brother has a cat now and he brought it to my house(along with his dog) a couple of times. I'm just afraid, so he keeps it in the back yard and then lets it sleep in his truck during the night.

I would never get one, but they're cute!

I've already told my husband that no matter how much our future children beg for a cat it's absolutely forbidden while they live under our roof. I just can't stand them. Something about their eyes, and the way they show their butts off just really freak me out. And litter boxes are very gross.

Now, dogs on the other hand are just so lovable!

My cats bring never ending joy to our household. :goodvibes
