Do you hang your shirts to dry or do you put them in the dryer?

I hang clothes to minimize wear and save electricity. We have two maple racks and a line in our basement. I dry sheets, towels, socks.

But then aren't your towels crunchy? :confused3

I dry my husband's clothes, but not mine (except for everyday lounge type clothes.) I hang my pants, jeans, dresses, shirts, etc. to air dry. I'm not only concerned about shrinkage, but also about them starting to look old and worn out. I think air drying keeps clothes looking newer longer.

The only thing I hang up to dry is my jeans and other pants. I'm 5'7 with long legs, and it's hard to find pants that fit just right. The "longs" are too long, but the "averages" are a lot of times too short - or become too short if I dry them in the dryer.

ETA: I forgot to mention that I hang them inside. I hate that stinky smell of laundry dried outside.

I throw everything in the dryer except sweaters and some dresses.

Everything goes into the dryer, except for MY jeans and pants. And of course, items that say "line dry" on the tag.
