DH has a vacation week the week before Christmas and we were planning to drive down to So Cal and go to Disneyland.

This week, he says lets go to WDW instead.

And I think he's crazy...

And then I start thinking... (this is where it gets dangerous)

So now I find myself waiting for Southwest to release their flights for that week so I can see if we can get a cheap enough fare to go. I'm not forking out $500/person! I already called DVC and they have the room, which I reserved and have up until a month before to cancel. They also offer DVC members discounted annual passes (because we are going again next December and then we won't have to pay again!-- yes, justification for insanity).

So now I am anxiously waiting and waiting and waiting for the airfare. DH and I already talk about restaurants and such like we're actually going. I'm going nuts. I am soooo excited. I really didn't want to miss Cinderellabration and the 50th stuff they're doing at WDW. Cross your fingers that they'll release some decent priced seats soon!

WDW during the Christmas decorations? You'd be a lucky girl. :earsgirl:

i don't think it is crazy...just a girl with a plan!!!

christmas time at wdw is always beautiful!!! love, love, love that time of the year!!!

Crazy? Not at all, lol!! We're heading down on Christmas Eve... now you tell me who's crazy!! I hope the airfair works out for you - how magical!

OT - I just became a DIS sponsor, but I can't get my sponsor icon under my name like you have. So tell... how'd ya do it?

Have you downloaded the DING program? I got awesome airfare from my homestate to Orlando for $34 each way or $85 round trip! They're only showing rates through Nov. 17 right now, but I'm guessing soon they will open it up through December. You really have to check it for new "Ding" specials 2 or 3 times a day, because they are posted randomly throughout the day. I couldn't pass up such cheap fare, and I'm getting my condo for less than $300 for a week, rental car for $122 for the week, so I'm really going on the cheap. We've got leftover tickets to use, so no need to buy new ones. I'm considering trading in an unused ticket to upgrade it to an AP for me (so I could be coerced into going again next year ;) ).

I'd really love to visit Disneyland though. We haven't been since my kids were toddlers, and I can't remember having any pix of our trip (though DS insists we took pix of them in Toon Town or whatever it's called there). We actually have relatives in Anaheim, but they haven't been to DL yet --can you believe it?? They think we're a little off our rocker to go so often (or even at all).

Good luck with your airfare. Remember to check all the independents too.

The admins will add the "Dis Sponsor" avatar under your name when they proceess your sponsorship. It takes them a few days so keep an eye out.

Yes, I downloaded Ding! the other day. So far the dates are only till Nov. 17th and I need Dec. 17th so I need to wait a bit. S/W has released only till Dec. 12 on their regular schedule. Any other airlines are outrageous because it's Christmas week. Most of the independents are this far out west yet, so Southwest is our best choice.

It's not like we really NEED to go... lol... but when your brain starts thinking about it.... it's like a train wreck you can't stop.

YOU GO GIRL!!! My friend at work just booked for 12/16 - 12/21!!

You'll have a blast in December! That is my favorite time to go! :cool1:

We went during Christmas last year, and had an absolute blast! We went to the last MVMCP on Dec. 17th, and it really wasn't crowded at all. The parade was so neat! I think my favorite memory was walking under the canopy of Osborne lights at MGM--absolutely incredible!! We also went to the Candlelight Processional one evening---we all enjoyed this too. The parks are all decked out, and it's just really a beautiful time to go. I would go again in a heartbeat (and may have to plan another trip after writing all this!). The weather was cold, and it really put us in the mood for Christmas! I took a small artificial tree and decorated the condo we were staying at. Oh goodness, I'm talking myself into it now! :rolleyes1

Oops! I forgot to add about Universal and IOA in December. You just have to see Whoville when it's decorated for Christmas!! What a hoot! They also have the Macy's parade there. Oh, this is not looking good for me...

sweet maxine--we were at MVMCP on December 17th last year, too! :Pinkbounc It was wonderful!

After reading your post, I am ready to go again this December! Now, if only I could talk DH into this! :earsgirl:

I was at MVMCP on Dec 16 and 17th! Small world . . . had never done it before & wish I had. December is my favorite time to go to WDW and DL. Oh, the memories . . . . .

Not sure what airport you live near, but Jet Blue has flights on December 17th to Orlando for $199.00 Again, since i don't live there, don't know what a good price is... good luck!

Okay ya'll, I've got to quit reading these posts! I just went and checked on condo availability for the govt. program, and of course, there's plenty there!!!! Hmmm, I'll be talking myself into this before you know it!

I tell ya, Disney is a magical place at Christmas!!

Yeah but I was JUST there last Christmas! We went 12/4-9 and then got on the Wonder for 3 days. LOVED it. We always love Disney @ Christmas. That's why it didn't take too much convincing...

I'm a nut.
