I go to supermarkets, open air produce markets and grocery stores everywhere I go. I just have to see what people are eating.

Actually we don't. I admit you had me laughing with that thought of having to go to Walmart while there (heard the deals weren't any better though). I think while on vacation I only like to go to a store if I need to... otherwise if it is at home, I don't usually bother

Only if I have forgotten to bring something from home. I look for unusual stores while on vacation you know the ones that say, "come on in, sucker on vacation".

ROTFLOL! I'm like Gina. I like to go to open air markets and see what people like to eat, too.

I like to go to grocery stores we don't have in the Northeast. Interesting to see what foods are popular in different areas. I also like to see different Wal-Marts,even though they are all set up the same they usually have selection of sports attire from local colleges. Up here it would be UCONN stuff.

Yes! Mostly stores that we don't have back home. For instance, we don't have Old Navy here (yet) so if I'm in Ontario (Ottawa, Toronto...) or the US I'll go there for sure. Also the US probably also means I'll go to other stores we don't have here such as Abercrombie & Fitch and Wet Seal... oh and Target of course! We don't have Target here, just Wal Mart. Grocery Stores can be fun too!!!

If we're at the beach, I'll usually go grocery shopping, but other than that it's gift shops only. I hate shopping!

I used to always go to Target when we would go on vacation, but we recently got a store in town so I won't do that anymore. Whenever we go to Florida, I always go to Publix and Burdines.

Since our last vacation - The character warehouse and Character carnival in the BELZ FACTORY OUTLETS in Orlando about 15 min by car from WDW - they sell as most of you probably know WDW merchandise at GREAT savings!

Gee, Shep - we must be related or something! We've been to Wal-Marts in New York, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Arizona, Kentucky, Virginia, Ohio, Iowa, Illinois, Colorado, Maine, Texas, Florida, and I'm sure there's a few states I've left out.

DH cracks up every time we do this, "We go on vacation and we're at Wal-Mart." Hey - we need stuff and they'll take your check if you're in their computer system!!

LOL I thought I was the only one with the Wal-Mart problem! Ihave to stop at one whenever we travel. And I swear I have been to everyone in this state. DH thinks I am nuts

I only go to stores where I can buy things, it makes it a lot easier. I go in just about every shop in WDW everytime I go, and when I go other places (sacrelig) I go in to just about any mall I happen to see. I sometimes go in the grocery store, but only if I am staying at relatives houses. Shopping is just part of life!

PS Proud to say I have been in Wal Mart less than 5 times total. I avoid them at all costs.

Mickeyfan1, i was beginning to think I was the only anti- Wal Mart person here. One store I must always go to in Orlando is the Donald J Pliner store, it is the best with great savings. I think the name of the shopping center its in is Premeir......I think, great Nike Factory store also.....I guess I like shoe stores no matter where I am.

I cleaned my shoes out last week, and wouldn't you know, Sears was having a huge clearance sale today, and I just had to buy a new pair of Dark Brown 3 inch heel slide ons. Leather, 15.02 with tax!

PS, I do HAVE to go to Kohls when I am in Virginia, ours is being built (1st on in AZ opens this year, I hope)

Whenever we leave Vermont we hit the big malls and act like the backwoods hicks we are! We have ZERO shopping options in Vermont other than Walmart and the occasional JC Penney.

You should have seen us in the Mall of America in Minneapolis....

Count me in with the anti-Wal Mart crowd. I've never been in one and never plan to go to one. I have issues with both their expansion policies and the way they treat their employees.

I don't guess this would qualify as a store... or maybe it would. Anyway, we always try and stop at Cracker Barrel when we are traveling! That is a must!
