Do you get your FREE annual credit report ?

I need to start doing this again, and thought I'd share info on how to do it. Be sure to check all 3 companies.

Ever since my credit card went on vacation to the Bahamas without me a year or so ago, I pay for credit monitoring. I now get notified right away if anybody does a credit check, if there is a problem with any of my accounts, etc. Once a month I get a credit report. It's a business expense for me, but it really isn't very expensive.

I do the same. Well worth the expense.

I took Clark Howard's advice and just froze my credit. Nobody's getting to use my cards but me!

Has anyone tried to pull their free credit report lately? I tried today with two of the three and was told by two that my request couldn't be processed. Does that mean there is a problem with my credit or that the site isn't working?

Is there another site that offers free reports?

We haven't done this in about three years. I am planning to do so again though. We are contemplating moving, and it would be good to know our score so we know what to expect in regard to interest rates and the like.

Also..I have been getting NON STOP calls for our neighbors that live at a similiar address. Same number and street, just on a "south" part of the road. My husband and the home owner there share the same first name as well. Apparently they are experiencing some financial difficulties, as their creditors are looking for them. Only, they are calling MY house. As soon as I set one caller straight, another one starts. It occured to me that we better check our credit report as it may not be just our phone number linked to these folks.
