Do you get the free wired broadband internet if you're renting DVC points

The key word in that AllEars quote is "members". :)

Renters are eligible for the perks of being a Disney resort guest (EMH, DME, package pickup, charging to the room), but are not eligible for member perks and discounts.

However, there's a pretty fair chance you won't be charged for internet access. If they do charge you, you'll have to pay it, as they would require proof of membership to take the charge off your bill.

The big difference would be if you were either compensating the member for the use of the reservation or not. If they gifted the reservation to you for no compensation, you might be entitled to some of the member perks. Since you paid for the reservation, you are not entitled to any member perks.

When you check-in, if you key has *DVC Member* on it, you will most likely get the free internet.

Officially, no you won't get free internet access. That is for DVC Members and their guests staying using their membership.

Renters aren't entitled to any DVC perks. However, chances are very good that Disney won't know that you're renting so you'll get the free internet. Just don't be surprised by the bill.

How do they know you're using the internet? (unless you get a password or something)

How much is the charge if you do use the internet?

Believe me, they know.

It's $9.95 for 24 hours.

In November we stayed at BWV with some friends. We paid for their studio with our points as their Christmas present. They were not charged for internet connection. I don't know how Disney would know if we gave the reservation to our friends or rented it to them.

The member is supposed to tell MS if they are renting a reservation or gifting it.

I would assume (I know what happens when you assume..lol) that if that info was required to be given to MS, they would've asked for it. They didn't ask, we didn't tell, so in our case MS would not have known.

It's in your paperwork from DVC. You are required to tell MS if you are renting a reservation or gifting it.

In room high speed at WDW is wired internet. It is easy to tell when you plug in, and what port/ room you are plugged into.

Paid Wi-fi in a few public areas must be either device specific(MAC address) or user/password.
