Do you get the boot on Halloween party nights?

Someone last week was told by a CM that if you have a ressie after 4pm on a 'party day' that you will be required to have an event ticket- YES, 4PM....not 7PM.

While this CM could be wrong- it seems like this thread confirms at least some of this as 'fact'....as a 6:40 ressie has a note that says you must hold party tickets OR ELSE.

CM was definitely wrong. And they would indeed be fine at 6:40.

Magic Kingdom® Park

Your reservation occurs during a special event, which requires a separate admission ticket for park entry. Please ensure all members of your dining party hold tickets for this event.

It really remains to be seen what the cutoff will be for this year. Last year it was 7pm...but that might not be the case this year.

Oh, I believe it says that. I just believe it is wrong. They are not going to leave tables in restaurants empty between 4 and 7 every party night.

They are TERRIBLE at communicating policy regarding party tickets and times on party nights.

I'd bet the farm on it.

I strongly suspect this is a glitch in the WDW ADR system. I cannot honestly imagine them not allowing non-party guests to make ADR while the park is still open to the general public.

Just to see if this was a CRT issue, I went and made a 5:30 pm ADR for Liberty Tree Tavern on the 9/14 (a party date). There was no warning about needing a special event ticket for this ADR. I then tried a 6:15 pm ADR for Tony's Town Square and no warning appeared there either. So my guess is that there is a glitch with CRT's ADR system.

Well- I want a ressie at the Plaza on a party night and I can't get one to save my life! I sorta wish they would make it so only party goers can have access to ADRs past 4pm at MK. It would make my life easier LOL!

Won't happen. They want every chair full.

The 4 PM entry is not because that's when the party starts. It's because that's the most efficient way to get the day guests out and the party guests in, without a massive traffic jam.

4-7 is a bonus, not an entitlement.

I know I know.....doesn't mean I can't dream! :)

I am glad they are so aggressive. People pay a lot of money to go to the parties!
I agree. They didn't escort people out before, and you had lots of people who didn't have tickets that would stay anyway. If you want to enjoy the party, buy a ticket.

I was surprised at how aggressively the CMs monitored wristbands leading up to the 7pm cut off when we were there. The people being directed/led out looked like trespassers. Sorta felt bad for some of them.

Of course, after 7pm if they don't have a party ticket they don't have valid admission to the park at that time and thus aren't supposed to be in the park at that time. So, yep in a way they are trespassing.

Now people who are finishing an ADR aren't trespassing but would be if they lingered.

Thanks for the feedback. That's good to know.
Do you think it's worth going to the magic kingdom on a party-night? The park hours are short and no fireworks. I had heard the crowds are light earlier in the day and then really heavy around 5:00pm to close.

The crowd predicting blogs actually recommend MK on party days for this exact reason. Most people will avoid MK during the day because they won't have a full day - park closes at 7pm to the public, and there is no evening entertainment. If you will be spending more time at MK earlier or later in your stay, I think MK during the day of a party is a good choice for light crowds.

Crowds probably will pick up from 4pm-7pm, as those with party tickets are allowed in beginning at 4pm. I'd plan to spend the morning/early afternoon there if low crowds are of most importance. If you only have one day for MK and want to catch Wishes, I'd shoot for another day with the thought in mind that crowds will be higher - since Wishes and MSEP are shown less frequently through the week, it makes for higher crowds on nights they do show it.

Wow, some strong opinions here. My plan was to go to MK on Sunday, 10-5 but have since changed because of the party. I think the party is great, never been, but I'm sure with it being Disney. But, I believe there is one on 10-2, 10-3 and 10-5. That's a Thursday, Friday and Sunday. That is limiting people's options quite a bit. A lot of people are coming in for the Tower of Terror race which is on Saturday, 10-4. So while they are in Disney they won't have a chance to go to MK without being kicked out at 7 or paying basically 165 for a park ticket (100 + 65). Just saying.

One a better note. Does anyone know of a good spot with cool outdoor seating, adult beverages that would have a great view of the MK firework display, outside of the park????

Having paid extra for the hard ticket, I'm glad they made those who didn't leave. I was just surprised at how aggressive they were. Families were repeatedly confronted by CMs as they were making their way toward the front. Made me feel bad for parents trying to explain to their kids that they couldn't pause to look at this or that on the way out.

We have a 6:40 PM CRT on a party night, and my email does not have the verbiage about requiring a ticket and it did not prompt me about it when booking.

These 6 pm-7:15pm ADRs were added to the ADR system the day the party tickets went on sale. I'm guessing some of ADRs that start prior to 7pm were accidentally lumped with the 7 pm and later ADRs in their database.

Not many options to my knowledge I think the only options with a "great view" would be from the monorail resorts. At CR, Cali Grill has a viewing platform for patrons who are either dining there or just hanging at the bar, but no outdoor seating. At Poly, you can sit on the beach with a cocktail from the bar but you'd have to get there early for a lounger. You'd also have to check construction status at that time because as of now, part of the beach is closed off. You can also see it from Ohana but again, no outdoor seating. Not sure about GF, but I do believe there is a patio of some sort there.

I know it's not Wishes, but for a similar experience viewing Illuminations at Epcot, we did dinner at Rose & Crown and they have a beautiful outdoor patio on the lagoon with a great view. You'd have to request a table there which is not guaranteed, but it's worth a shot.

They are forceful because some guests seem to require it.

And if parents tell their kids ahead of time that they will need to hustle out without stopping to look at stuff, I think they can handle it.

agree with this..over my years going to parties I have seen some guests go thru absurd lengths to avoid being stopped by cms to try and stay in the parks for a party event they didnt pay for..including in one instance watching a grown woman and her kids duck in and hide in the ladies room in fantasyland ( and yes she was telling her kids to stay quiet and kill time in the restroom)..

Last year, we did a pre-7:00 ADR at BOG on a party night, and knew we'd be escorted through the park after dinner. They had us wait in the BOG courtyard until there were a few groups done so they could escort us all at once. One woman was very loud and obnoxious about being kept in the courtyard, saying that she was MORE THAN CAPABLE of walking out of the park on her own. She tried to sneak away from the courtyard at least twice, but was stopped both times. We had a very, very nice CM lead us through the park, and that obnoxious woman and her party broke away from our group in a mass of confusion and people near Casey's. You could just tell she was just waiting for an opening to break away, and as soon as the CM turned her back, she took off marching for Adventureland. We paid to attend two parties that week (just not that night) so it was pretty annoying to see someone try to participate in the party for free, but I'm hopeful she was stopped and escorted out.

I hope they drank too much at dinner and made their first stop at a restroom with wristband check. :p

We got primo last minute spots upstairs at the train station when CMs came through right before the first parade and did a wristband check. I really need to thank those girls for holding a spot for us. When they bolted for the opposite staircase my husband asked what was up. I told him to just relax and have a seat!
