Do you get soaked on Atlantis?

We will be at SW next week, and I was wondering if you really get soaked on Journey to Atlantis.

TIA

As long as you don't sit at the front you shouldn't get too wet. I went in September '08 and i sat at the front by myself, whilst my cousin and uncle were behind. After going down the big drop, we went down one of the tiny drops you do just to get level. But where it was so deep a whole wave of water came into the boat and drenched me from the waist down, whereas my uncle or cousin wasn't very wet :thumbsup2

You should expect to get your feet and legs soaked on this ride, regardless of where you sit. There are also water guns that may hit your torso.

Definitely Not the front and if I remember correctly it is the SECOND drop that REALLY soaks you. You will get wet!!

What ride have you all been????

Journey to Atlantis is the wettest ride I have ever been on! Water spills into the boat so that you're sitting in a puddle by the end of the ride. My mom had a waterproof bag on Atlantis, and when she opened it up after the ride, the contents were SOAKED!!! Of course, SeaWorld is no fun if you don't get wet on something, so either way, you're going to leave the parking lot with pruny feet and smelly shoes, along with damp clothing.

Yes, Journey to Atlantis is fun, but REGARDLESS OF WHERE YOU SIT, you will get drenched...you could drown

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Somehow I can't see this as a tagline Sea World would want advertising one of their thrill rides!

But, I agree, if you go on it, expect to get wet - to what degree depends on many things. For example, where your sitting, who is operating the water cannons on "land", who else is in your boat with you, and how the planets are aligned. :hippie:

Think you get soaked where ever you sit. One warning though, if you sit right at the back you end up with a very wet bum. When it does the climb all the water in the bottom of the boat heads down to the back!

Some people bring rolls of quarters just to shoot the water guns in theme parks:thumbsup2
Depending on their ability to time the water guns you may come up damp or drenched.
Riders with kids don't seem to have as much water enter from the ride itself.

You WILL get wet on Journey To Atlantis, row three is the driest of the rows. I agree with the others the water pools into the boat and when you are going up it just all goes to the back! The water cannons are what you have to look out for! If the kids want to get soaked head over to the viewing area by the big drop that is to the left of the gift shop and as the boats come the water will make its splash into that area similar to the bridge at the Tidal Wave at Busch Gardens. :cool2:

We didn't get very wet, but then we had been at Islands of Adventure the previous day. THAT, my friend, has some wet rides! Try the Bilge Rat Barges. I thought I couldn't get any wetter than I did on that ride--until I rode it a second time! :scared1:

:lmao:

So, maybe we got wet on Atlantis, but in comparison...it just didn't seem that bad...:confused3

Oh yeah! I got drenched Bluto's as well! That one is good and so is the Congo River at Busch Gardens. I wasn't impressed with the Kali River Rapids at DAK but that has just been my experience!

Well, my son didn't get too wet on Atlantis, but I got hit by a kid firing one of those water guns, and got soaked!
