Do you get choked up or cry during fireworks?

Okay, reading all your posts is making me so weepy!! My goodness!

I haven't seen Wishes, yet... but I know I'm going to LOVE it! Illuminations caught me off guard when I saw it for the first time 8 years ago. We were there the first week in December, and to see the children talking about Santa in their native language... I don't know! I sobbed! This time, I will have my own children... I don't know if I'll make it!

Is Wishes to traditional Disney tunes? I have THE BEST Disney CD called "Disney's Princess Lullaby Album". We used to play it for my daughter at bedtime. Now, I often play it when we have guests during dinner or when I am reading in bed, or going to sleep. It is not distracting, but chock full of Disney emotion. It sneaks up on me! I have been known to tear up in the middle of lasagna as "A Whole New World" starts. (I often sang this to my kids.)

I have such clear visions in my head of how my daughter's face is going to look when she first sees Cinderella's castle or how my son's laugh sounds as he rides Buzz Lightyear for the first time! I can't wait to cuddle and see Wishes TOGETHER for the first time!!

I have to say that Wishes gets me everytime. I get weepy from the start, but when you get to Aladdins wish of "Genie I wish for your freedom", I have to do everything I can not to completely lose it. Just thinking about it is getting me choked up.

Wishes gets me every time. I love watching the fireworks and hearing the music-I get completely lost in the moment.

I can never make it through Wishes, Fantasmic, Illuminations, or even the parades, without a tear or two. It amazes me how emotional I get, especially when I see my kids loving every moment as much as I do.

I started tearing up at about the second post of this thread. I cried all week at WDW. I cried during Wishes, Illuminations, the MK parade, when I saw how ecstatic my kids were during the Festival of the Lion King.

What really got me (and DS9) bawling was the video on the Magical Express bus on the way to the airport. I was sad enough to be leaving, but then at the end of the video they started singing "M-I-C see you real soon..." and I just lost it. I'm there with my husband and two sons crying "I don't wanna leave!"

I've got to go get a tissue...

Yep, Illuminations will do it every time. Just pop the cd in and I start to well up.
The worst was Tapestry of Nations. I still turn into a puddle when we watch video of that parade. Wow, I love Disney!
.

One year we were in the back of WS watching Tapestry as it entered the park. It was magical as the performers focused on my children when they went by, as there were few people there. We were asked to hold the rope at the end and walk behind the parade. It had been a rough year with my son who had a hip disorder. I blubbered like an idiot!

I still cry in the car when we play our Tapestry CD.

I am such an idiot....

I'm a big softie, Wishes always makes me cry. Just thinking of it and reading your posts have me choked up. Also, music from Tapestry of Nations gets me! Which is crazy b/c we really only saw it while rushing from Italy to Mexico to make our PS time @ San Angel Inn! I just thought how cool is this and I wish we could actually watch the whole thing! We had no idea we would never see it again.

Works for me every time! I'm a big softie

Wow LUVMICKEY....you must be my TWIN. You said EXACTLY what I always feel and say. We leave in 5-1/2 days with the 2 oldest grandsons. I love to watch a first timer (especially a grandchild) see Wishes, Illuminations and Fantasmic. It brings the magic (and tears) back for me. Then in December DH and I are going for that romantic holiday trip...just the 2 of us. (more tears)! I'm blessed to have such wonderful opportunities. Aren't we all! :cloud9:
KarlaG4Kids, they say that everyone has a twin, and that's great. Dh and I will also be there in December, just he and I. We can't wait. We are very fortunate to be able to do all the things we do, and be able to go to our most favorite place(WDW)so often.

Every time! At first I thought, it's the novelty, I probably won't cry again next time. NOT! MY family always make a bit of fun of me because they know that it will happen, they watch out for it too.

I don't care, it means that no matter how many times I see wishes or here the last phrase to Fantasmic!, I am always truly touchedby the magic that surrounds me.

Yes! Certified Sap here. Wishes and Fantasmic both make me teary eyed. I also get teary eyed when I see Characters with MAW families, the other day at work I saw Minnie stop on her way back to the ship to spend some time with a little girl who was on a MAW trip, I out and out broke down in tears. Just seeing her face. Sometimes the parades get to me too. =o)

I ALWAYS cry while watching Wishes. I often cry when the white light boat comes out at the end of Fantasmic. I often cry watching my girls interact with the characters. I also cry when I enter the MK gates and see Main Street for the first time on each trip. Call me a Disney sap. I don't care. I love Disney!!!!!!!!!! :goodvibes

:grouphug: I cry every single solitary time, without fail, my ds(9) always says- here comes the waterfall, he knows exactly at what point in ht emusic the tears begin to flow! i cry at the parades, the fireworks, when i see aladdin, when i see mickey, when i see tinkerbell fly, when i see the castle, when i watch disney specials...see a pattern? HAHAHA i am a DISFREAK!
All tears of Joy!
***I also cry every time they send families to WDW from extreme makeover home edition...
Does anyone have a kleenex--i feel the tears :grouphug:

I cry LISTENING to the Wishes music, when I am there I get all choked up, its an amazing feeling!

Wishes is the one that gets me. As we were leaving MK on our first trip following Wishes, my ds11 took my hand in his and said, "Mom, that really touched me." I cry every time now.

I cry all the time. At everything really. I think it's a combination of the music, the location, and my family. It's beyond special when we're all down there together. In 2009 my parents are taking DH and I, and DSis and her DBF (probably DH by then) to the World as their retirement present to themselves. I will surely be a mess at every single show being there with all of them.

The fireworks don't choke me up; it's the Beauty and Beast show at the studios that gets to me. (And I'm an adult male, so don't tell anyone.) Not sure why, but I did the same thing when I saw the show on Broadway. The music? The costumes? The Lights? Not sure, but it gets me every time.

Enjoy.

I do. I get choked up at the Holiday IllumiNations when they play "Let There Be Peace On Earth". It's beautiful in this time of strife. I also get choked up when my (then) 6-year old DD sings along to Wishes. She's so darn cute!

i find wishes makes makes me very emotional especially on my last night  .my partner feels exactly the same but he tries not to show it ;) .
its definitely the music that affects me the most!
