I thought i'd never say this about my car, but now that i've had it for 2.5 years and it's no longer new, i'm getting a little bored with my car. What's funny is that DH's car is going on 5 years old and he said the same thing. We don't plan on getting any new cars soon because one of the two is paid for and they both have relatively low mileage for their age, but now I see why some people lease cars so they get to drive a "new" car every 2 years.

Anyone else feel this way?

I do. The only one I never really did get bored with was my Grand Am. DH has custody of it now and I have visitation ;) but he's really beat the crap out of it, so it's not as great to drive as it used to be.

I don't have enough money to get bored with my car. It's my car. It just *is*. I've adapted. :thumbsup2

Not with my current car. I have a 4 year old Subaru Forrester that I just  . Big enough for DH, me, DS and a pal for DS. Plus all the boys baseball gear, soccer gear, or a bike.

Oh yes! I seemed to get bored with them every 3 years or so. Luckily, DH is as much as a car freak as I am! Or maybe that's not such a good thing... :headache:

Whne I get board of my car I take her out for a nice dinner that I otherwise might not have been able tp afford with a new car paymnet.
Gives me a new respect for the old gal!

I have a Prius and just love it. I have had it since they first came out and I am not bored with it at all. I love the gas mileage it gets and I love getting on the HOV lanes with just me in the car during rush hour.

Have you thought about swapping cars? ;)

yep, thats why we lease...although i do miss my 2001 suburban..should have bought it after the lease was up...we have an envoy now and its just not the same.

Can't say that I do.

I don't really have any attachment to my car other than as a vehicle to get me from point A to point B. As long as it starts I'm as happy as I need to be!

I do, after about three years. That is one of the reasons I decided to lease this one. If I want a new car every three years, and it isn't going to be worth squat when I trade it in, I might as well lease.

Don't tell DH, but I am starting to get a little tired of my van, and I got is brand new in June. I am hoping I am just irritated with how dirty it has gotten over the winter, and that if I have it detailed after mud season, I will fall in love with it again.

Yeah, I feel a little bored with mine. I've been driving it for nearly nine years. It's paid for and still relatively trouble-free, so I'm much happier putting my money elsewhere for now. I do want to replace it in a year or two, but I will probably buy used this time - bought my last one new and just don't feel like it was worth the extra money.

I wish I did - I dont!!! I love my car, I form a bond with my cars.... so then, I almost feel GUILTY even *thinking* about getting another car. Like Im a filthy-no-good-car-adultrist!!!

I drive a Pink 98 Hyundai..... yes, pink, and yes I love her!

I have a gorgeous blue 2004 Mustang with the 40th Anniversary Pony package. I will NEVER EVER EVER get tired of it and its all mine mine mine. :woohoo: :drive: :car:

I have always been a cars are "supposed to be practical." kind of person, I am fine as long as car gets me from point A to point B.

My wife seems to need a new car every two years, and it matters much to her what kind of car it is. So I seem to inherit a new(to me) car every 2 years, which isnt a bad thing Cuz she does have decent taste. That is besides having my work truck.

I am the opposite, I actually get attached to them. I handed my Chysler 300M down to DS#1 with 160K, still running well. (he totalled it a couple weeks ago) I was really sad to see it "that way". I love my new car, white diamond Cadillac CTS. Its nicer than the 300M, I won't get bored until it doesn't run anymore.

I tend to fall in love with my car and hate to see when it has to go to the great junk yard in the sky.

Yeah I know what you mean!! I currently drive a Mitsubishi Eclipse GT...it's silver...I always wanted one but I so want to get rid of it now!! I used to drive a black Toyota 4-Runner. I think that is more my speed...SUV's...I LOVED that thing and I want another!!
