A friend of mine said that you get better deals when going with a TA vs. booking yourself or thru Disney. So I called her TA and she said that they get better deals but didn't explain what was better.

Looks like you have been to Disney often in the past 10 years....how did you book then, TA or thru Disney?

From what I have read on these boards....there are some wonderful TA's, and perhaps not so wonderful. The one big differance I see is that only TA's can make changes for you once you book it through an agency.

I prefer to book myself:) Got a better deal this trip from reading on here that is for sure!!

I dont know about better deals, but most of the time my TA will find things that I couldn't find and be able to get me a lower price on packages. Like my trip this time started at 3100, but then I talked to her and she got me the same stuff for only 2600!!! So I think its just a matter if you can find the same things they do or not.

I have always booked myself or thru disney. I have never used a travel agent, but then again no one has every really raved about their TA for me to call them and see what deals I can get.

i find it easier to book our trip myself rather then going through a TA. From reading these boards and various other sites, i think i can find and have found some pretty good deals!!! :cool1:

I have gotten better deals myself by just watching the boards and jumping on a code.

nicolette.....I think if you are on the internet and follow these boards, you can get good deals.
Also, do you like the planning aspect of it? I allowed a TA to do our last little trip...I couldnt stand not having control of my ressie and having everything go through her!! UGH...lol :)
The TA you talked with should have given you some kind of examples, etc.

I am using a TA for the first time for my Sept trip. I figured I'd be smart and use her to get the free dining. It was wonderful!!!! I didn't have to call at the crack of dawn, I didn't have to hold and best of all I didn't have to deal with any less and smart Cast Members working the reservation system:rotfl: .

I've researched on-line and I paid the same as if I had booke dit myself, but she did make all my ADR's which was a big time saver for me. I think it wouldn't hurt to get a quote from a TA and then price it out yourself.

DisneyBride...the only example she gave me was that if "free dining" comes out for when we are going she can add that, where as she said I wouldnt be able to do it myself.

I like booking myself, but DW likes using a TA. This trip we used a TA, but next time I'm booking myself! :thumbsup2:
