Do you find yourself wanting to respond to certain threads

but you just know that by giving your honest opinion it's just going to get you in trouble?

Lately, I'm finding it takes considerable restraint to keep from posting on some threads. I mean, sometimes I just want to say what I REALLY think, but do I want to risk getting banned? I keep telling myself, don't open those threads, don't read those threads.

I guess sometimes it's best to just take a deep breath and back away.

I will type out a long response and then end up deleting it before hitting submit. Sometimes it just feels good to get it out without actually sending it!

I type...then I push the "back" button. I have recently discovered the "ignore" feature, too! Ignoring people I think are nutjobs is good for my blood preasure! :furious:

I use the "back button" method a lot, too. But sometimes I just can't help myself.

Denae

I can't help myself most of the time. Or, I rant to my poor husband about it. :lmao: Like he wants to hear another one of my opinions.... I just always try to be respectful, and not get too worked up. If I know I will get too worked up, I avoid it all together.

Nah...I kind of like making people mad.

Isn't that twisted??? :rotfl2:

I'm almost as bad as a troll.

Same here.

Also, sometimes, I'll almost submit my post then something tells me to double-check whether a certain so-n-so has chimed in the thread. As soon as I see him/her, I bail. There are just some people I want nothing to do with.

How do you ignore someone? I'm VERY curious... I think my blood pressure would benefit too!!

:rotfl2: I've done this, too!! I'll even get halfway through my response knowing I'm not really going to send it. I hope I don't accidentally hit submit someday! :rotfl: :rotfl:

You probably know what I'm going to say. I have a hard time keeping my mouth shut (oops, almost made a typo that might have gotten my banned :rotfl: ). But really quite often I do temper what I'm saying--I might say something, but I do put thought into it and try to say it in the least offensive way possible. I'm not out to be rude, just like in real life. It's when I'm joking and sarcastic that I get out of hand. That's when I'm the most likely to be banned, but also when I'm really not being serious. Got to watch my mouth--that's my new mantra! :teeth:

beckmrk, all you do is click on their user name and bring up the profile. Right below the initial information about the poster there is a place where it asks if you want to add someone to your ignore list.

It's great! It is like putting your hands over your ears and singing the star spangled banner when someone is talking!

If only you could do this in real life. I just got into a heated discussion with a co-worker about all the damage smoking can do. She tried to tell me that my drinking coke was hurting as many people as her smoking is :rotfl2: . I just had to back away, 'cause I was ready to slap some common sense into her. hehehehehe

Far too often. That's why I only post on the light-hearted threads. I do have an evil side--I've gotten better at hiding it though. :rotfl2:

I'm too curious to put people on my ignore list. I can see doing it if someone is harrassing me, but it would have to be very nasty. No, don't any of you try just to see if you can be nasty enough! :rotfl2:

That's what I'm talking about! It takes a lot sometimes to hold back! There are plenty of idiots in real life, so I guess it shouldn't be any surprise that there are plenty of them on the internet as well.

It's not fair to tempt us like this & then pull back the offer! :rotfl:

The back button is like my best friend. It knows when I need to press it, and knows when I can just go ahead and send it! I will type these long and thought out responses only to hit the back button.

I really shoudl ignore more threads than I do. I can tell that certain posters think I am some sort of freak. Oh well... :confused3 too late to change their opinions now.
