Do you feel being an internet TROLL limits the intellectual side of your personality?

I have an observation about internet trolls.

They are actually very timid in their real life. They are weak and spineless. No backbone whatsoever and they can't stand up for themselves. They log onto the internet to hide behind a computer screen, wishing they had the nerve to post under their real user name.

Intellectual trolls don't get caught.

You know, this kind of stuff really bugs me.

I don't know who you guys are flaming but can't you just let the person alone.

It is not right to keep on "following" a person/people around and tormenting them.

I thought that most of the posters on this thread were good, kind and sensitive people but now I am not so sure anymore.

You are only making yourselves look mean and spiteful by continually attacking other DISers.

I am really sorry you feel that way. I am not a member of any club, but due to illness this last couple of weeks have spent a ton of time just reading on these boards. I have seen some people who just seem to want to hurt people or start fights. It really bothers me. Once or twice is an accident, been there done that, but some people seem to only instigate trouble.

I get fed up with the pot stirrers who start "baiting" and spitefully judgmental threads and contribute in the same manner to others' topics. There's no real interest in dialogue - they just want to provoke an angry or emotional response.

I applaud those who use gentle humor to poke fun at these offenders from time to time. And that's what I see this thread as being all about.

The internet is a wonderful thing, but some people use it as a way to push other peoples' buttons under the cover of anonymity.
