Do You Exercise/Work Out while at Disney?

When I am walking between 17,000 and 27,000 steps per day at Disney, I don't think a work out is necessary.

Personally, I don't exercise at Disney in an effort to burn calories. One week of not burning off everything I eat isn't going to kill me. I exercise on vacation to make the transition into my regular routine easier when I go back home. I also find that I have more energy to walk around the parks if I take a quick run in the morning.

I do but my workouts are not just about physical health and fitness.I use my morning exercise as a mental relaxation and me time.

I always intend to exercise while we visit, it just doesn't happen. I agree, walking the parks 12 plus hours a day is enough most of the time. I DO watch what I eat. I eat mostly salads as there are a lot of good options. I will indulge in a Mickey bar or something else yummy. But, I don't go hog wild. I gained 5 pounds last year and lost 3 of it when we were home after the second day.

Have a great time!

YES continue. it seems that your off to a slow but constant start...dont lose your progress because we all know sometimes taking a day off turns in to a week turns into a month ect......find the time...youll be happy you did

I agree that a lot of calories are burned walking around the parks… but that does not keep you fit, depending on what your activity of choice is. For example - I run - if I didn't run for the ten days of my trip this August then my cardiovascular fitness would suffer.

Having said that, I am contemplating my first full marathon in the fall, and as luck would have it if I train according to the plan I have picked out then I am due for a 15 mile run right in the middle of my trip.

I am honestly not sure if that is going to happen!! :rotfl:

Does walking all day at the parks until my feet are on fire count? LOL

Agreed. I feel you do so much walking there that I don't ever gain weight in Disney. I think other alternatives like swimming during breaks, doing a fun dance party or maybe if you are not flying or have room pack some 3-5 pound weights and do some strength training.
