Do you ever think we'll get new & improved DVC merchandise?

I'm OK if they don't change the logo (however, I wouldn't mind a new one).

My question is .... Do you think they'll ever get away from the plain white polo or T-shirt?

How about a new jacket color (besides white)... like the one CM's wear? I just want some new stuff ... don't you think they would've caught on by now?

I always feel like Moses when I start with "In the beginning..........."

They started with polo shirts in either torquoise, yellow, white and purple. (Get it, the colors of the logo.) You could get "member" embroidered on for an additional charge.

They've had different color DVC jackets. I have a purple one.

So, I guess the answer is, yes, they do change the merchandise. I've seen variations over the course of 10 years, but I'd still like to see more choices.

I'm a new member as of last week. Where do you get this merchandise? Do they sell any in the parks?

The merchandise is available in the DVC resorts- sometimes!

In the "old" days, we even had a mail order catalog of DVC merchandise, with jackets, towels, cups, key rings, shirts, shorts, etc. The last issue was in 1994! (I do have a copy)

A few times they have offered specific items in VM or by special mailing- the last one was for a tote bag, I think.

Hopefully, someone will eventually realize that the membership is eager for a variety of options and we are MUCH larger than we were in '94.

I actually have a generic tri-color polo, and a white one, so I would have to say they've been changing the merchandise right along. It would be nice if they had a wider selection.

The WL gift shop has a DVC jacket in navy.

We got a really nice Navy blue shirt with the DVC emblem and BWV on it. It had a new kind of collar. Kinda like a polo without the buttons. We purchased it over Labor Day weekend.

The point is that if you are a DVC member but not a VWL or BWV member, you might not want that on your navy jacket. The only thing other than white that I have seen at OKW is purple.

I understand that "back in the day" or "in the beginning" that they offered different items. Also, that the selection has changed in the past 10 years ( as well it should).

However, it seems like my local Fantasy Football League offers more of a variety items than DVC currently does. If they can sell out a cruise ship w/ members, I think (IMOHO) they could sell different (&more) items and we would buy them.

I just looked at the navy jacket I bought 3 days ago at VWL. The only thing it has on it are the words 'Disney Vacation Club' surrounding the DVC logo and the words 'Members are magical' underneath the logo. No reference to any individual DVC resort.

Think I'll have to check out the new jacket when I get there next month. It would be nice if they would bring back a catalog and even publish it a few times a year like the Vacation Magic publications we receive - or better yet - include the info in the Vacation Magic - I bet members would find some reason to buy resort items. Hint - Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries, etc.

I just got back from BCV in August , and was able to purchase a light brown visor with the DVC logo on it...it is the same style and color as in the new Members Guide....they also had shirts in that color as well......the visor was embroidered with a number 10 with the "0" in the shape of mickey on one side, and a quote saying something like "sharing the memories" on the other....I think they may be changing the color schemes...these where definetly nice shirts and hats!!....oh....this was at Atlantic Wear in BC.

We were at OKW this past weekend, they have just about nothing in the DVC logo line!! It almost looks like they are phasing out the DVC items!! When will they realize that there are hundreds of DVCers out there just waiting for new stuff to buy? I have a purple jacket (10 years old) and a white jacket (about 5 years old) They are still selling the white ones, only thing different is the price!!! I think its time for some new merchandise!

We were "advised" that a new line of merchandise was coming out soon? at one of the member updates back in July.Asked the question again at another and no one knew or would say anything about it.Did pick up some white and salmon polos and hats more than 50% off while at the VB and WL giftshops.

When we were there in Aug, we specifically went round all the dvc resorts ( just checking them out - but also looking for merchandise ). We were told there was a new range coming out late sept oct time.

We did manage to get a light blue polo shirt at BCV, but at $55.... a bit pricey .

Don't know how you missed it, but, they have some really attractive blue shirts with the new member logo on it and very nice navy blue jackets with the new member logo on it. In fact, I just purchased two today, at OKW.

with a DVC car sticker in place of the vanity plate that was sent out a couple years back. I cannot use it as a license plate, NJ requires front and rear plates. I had to stick it in the rear window of my SUV. My windows are tinted, so it just doesn't show well.

Was the new logo really a new logo or just the 10 year anniversary logo?
