is going? Or where it should be? It just keeps popping in mind so much lately. Haven't been happy where I am in life for many years. I'm thrilled to have my son, extremely happy with my recent move to another state, but there's still way too much missing from the big picture. Too many lost family members, friends that have their own lives and families, wondering where I should head career wise...go back to something I know, get back in school once residency is established, etc. It's not easy! I feel too bored this week.

Right now I'd like to be at Toby Keith's concert with a nice guy. :teeth: That must be it! ESCAPE!!! :teeth: ;)

I think we all question to some extent whether or not we are living the ideal life or not. For me, I often wonder if running in this ratrace is really what life is all about, and every so often I get the urge to just chuck it all for the simpler life. But then if we were to give up everything we have here, who is to say the unknown would be any better?

School sounds like a great choice for finding what it is you want (or don't want!), as well as opening the door to meeting new people. Do you have something specific you think you would like to study?

I do wonder and know that I can change what is happening in my everyday life. I am a SAHM, and I can either get a job somewhere or DH and I have been talking about having another child, so I know that no matter which decision I would make, it will make things different in my life.

Sometimes I question that quite a bit.

I ask myself this all the time. I think asking the question is a very healthy and valid mental exercise. I find all sorts of paradox in it. For example, I feel like the more professionally successful I get, the further I move away from what it is that I actually want, which is something I can't even fully identify or describe! Even if asking the question of yourself makes you uncomfortable, it's still definitely worthwhile.

And good luck finding a nice man and some Toby Keith tix. You know, as soon as you decide you aren't looking, they land in your lap, right? :)

Ever since I got divorced, all the time. And in truth, before that as well.

I'm a firm believer in not waiting for things to happen. If you want change, take command and change something you're unhappy about. Not saying it can be changed overnight. But take the first step... or the first two steps... then three.

Honestly though, I re-evaluate things all the time. Priorities change. People change. Your whole environment can change.

Having your son and being happy with your move are two big things you've got going for you. Build on that. Best of luck with everything :)

Pin Wizard, "How do you like me now" is one of Toby Keith's biggest hits and my favorite video ("...it's me baby with your wake up call ....").

I'm in the same boat you are right now. I was expecting a bonus for working all of this free overtime (I'm on salary) and I got the "at least you have a job speech." Going through a mid life crisis ... AHHHHHHH!

Life can be unfair and the grass is never greener on the other side. In some ways, you have been blessed, so focus on the good things in life too. As for "How do you like me now," makes me feel like kicking some .....
Best wishes.

Oh yes, I think I'm having a mid life crisis on a daily basis these days! LOL I keep wondering if this is the path I am supposed to be on.

Right now I'd like to be at Toby Keith's concert

Just had to add that we saw Toby Keith a week ago here in St. Louis. Oldest dd (8) is a HUGE fan and we suprised her and youngest dd with tickets. It was a really fun show! I was quite impressed and my dd was singing at the top of her lungs. (along with everyone else, including me!:D )

Snoopy...Very true! I've ruled out a couple things for school any way...not nursing, apparently not teaching...tried a class and dropped it. Changed to business major. Hmmm...I quit working 2 years ago to go to college because I couldn't stand the politics and the rat race. :scratchin So I'm thinking Business might not be it.

mommytotwo...Congrats on the changes! Good luck with deciding what' good for you. :)

stormi65...Good to know I'm not alone.

danacara...Interesting! And Thanks! :) I have ordered the tickets; just waiting for them to arrive. :Pinkbounc Ummmmmmm...that bit about him showing up when you stop looking...it's an old wives' tale!!!! Been that route...didn't work either.

jrydberg...I'll have to remember that. Sounds like some positive thinking!! And thank you! :)

bjgrazi...Thanks for the hug! :)

orvilleaire...Thanks! Oh! The...at least you have a job speech! Had that at my last job. Guess we needed to be more appreciative of the 2% increase as I'm sure there are some with 0%. Yes, very appreciative of the blessings. Try to keep the good thoughts up. This must just be one of those days where it doesn't cut it.

Ohmari...Here's my 10,000th!! :jumping1:
(Ooooops! It's my 10,003rd post!) :teeth:

Pooh93...Supposedly, we are where we are supposed to be. WHAT'S THE PURPOSE? That would be my question. :scared1: Glad you liked the concert. We saw him last year in West Palm Beach. He was GREAT! Now we're living in a military area...think it will be something else!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Sure, all the time.

Just yesterday, DW and I talked about the possibility of me being a SAHD if she becomes a partner in her firm. :) :)

{{{HUGS}}} sweetie. I think it's only human to question our lives. We all do it at one time or another.

Oh, good grief, yes. All the time. :(

I'm just lucky I have the best and most understanding DH in the world.

Absolutely!

I actually just spent an hour at lunch with a good friend talking about this very subject.
I seem to be at a weird crossroads in my life. I'm almost 30, really don't know what I want to do, and could go many different ways.

I am recently married, which I love, and we have a new puppy, and life is generally good. However, I still really don't know what I want to "do" with my life. I am working in retail right now, but I do have a college degree. The problem is, I don't want to do anything in the field that my degree is in. (Psychology and Sociology)
I would love to go back to school, but at this point I'm not even sure what I would go back for. I thought about being a teacher, then thought about Law School, but I'm not 100% sure of either, and we really don't have the money for me to go back now either.

So yes, in a nutshell, I question where my life is going and what direction to take almost daily. I hope that I can figure it out soon!

Lisa

Shannon...I see I have more company. :)

lightningcoach...Does the book really help do that? I've seen it so many times in the bookstore but never picked it up.

Krista...On most days?

Bob...Congrats to you and your wife!! :Pinkbounc I will keep my fingers crossed that it comes through! :)

nativetxn...Thanks for the hugs!!

theSurlyMermaid...Keep appreciating that hubby! In my book it makes a huge difference. However, there are singles out there telling the opposite. Everyone has different experiences.

Lisa...Good luck with those decisions. It's not easy. How cute!...Lilo is adorable!! :)
