Do you ever purchase snacks off-site?

We are thinking about stopping at Walmart before check in to get bottled water, drinks, and snacks. Is this something you do, or do you figure it's better to simply purchase everything in Disney?

We do a Garden Grocer order to arrive at the hotel at the same time we do. :)
We travel from the UK, so it's a loooooong travel day and we don't drive, so the idea of having everything at the hotel ready for us is much more appealing than getting a cab to Walmart.
We buy mostly drinks - bottles of water to take to the parks, cans of soda for the room, and we also buy some of our favourite US foods that we can't get here in the UK, like Chips Ahoy cookies, and better PopTarts.
Some stuff we eat in the room over the stay and some stuff we bring back to the UK with us.

Yes. We bring snacks and bottled water. We also bring items for a quick breakfast in the room. Bagels, cream cheese, apples, etc. It saves a lot of time and money to eat breakfast in the room while we all get ready in the morning. But, we also eat maybe one breakfast in the food court or a TS someplace and enjoy some Disney snacks along the way.

We always purchase snacks and beverages offsite. If you are onsite without a car you can also go to the Hess Gas Station near Boardwalk and pick up things (including beer!) at a reasonable price.

ETA: We also buy breakfast foods and we bring along reuable plastic Ziplock/Glad bowls for cereal. Plastic cutlery and napkins are everywhere at WDW.

Very cool... anyone know if you can request a microwave at the boardwalk inn or other resorts? We would love to make oatmeal in our room for a quick easy breakfast.

Oh yes!

I don't mind spending a lot on my vacation (I do:scared1:) but why spend 2,50 or 3,00 for drinks when you could get about a dozen bottles of water or half a dozen sodas for the same amount?

No need to waste money :)

We also get some other snacks and a few breakfast-items as well. It just saves some money for a few special treats and it's nice and easy to have some supplies in your room.

We never bother with any of that- we get whatever we want from the CL lounge.

Definitely bring with us. We always drive, so we're able to pack extras. For my trip last weekend, with me doing the half marathon, the warmer weather conditions, and me needing to make sure I had a decent stream of snacks, water and Gatorade, I brought things with me. With a bottle of water at $2.50-$3.50 at Disney, a banana costing well over a dollar and other snacks being pricy, it made sense to bring things with me. I would have easily spent $50 on water alone had I not. I say if you have a car and can swing by a store, or bring things with you, definitely do it.

Well now ... la-dee-da :snooty: . You get what you pay for I guess. The rest of us non-CL guests will just have to suffer by going to the Publix or Wal*Mart.

We always make a grocery or Walmart stop before checking in to pick up snacks and water. Each day I take the kids some snacks in the backpack. And we take tons of water especially when hot, and throw it under our stroller in the basket.

We always stop at Walmart on our first day! We pick up Bottled Water, of course, as well as diapers, wipes and swim diapers. We also get fresh fruit, snack items and breakfast things (cereal, yogurt, milk).

We were down there this past december and picked up a little tree for our room. You can order Christmas Trees through the Disney website for about $300, so our little tree for $7 was quite a steal!

Yeah, excuse me... For what you're paying one night for CL, I can stop and stock my room with better offerings for a whole week... Frivolous waste of money...

Yes, we either have a car service stop or we stop when driving to load up.... But we get rolls, salami, ham and bologna.... Cheeses and tomatoes plus snacks (chips, dip, fruit ) and drinks... Beer wine soda OJ alcohol...

We do pool picnics every afternoon during our out of park breaks.... After a day or to of restaurant food, I want some homemade sandwiches .....

We order from Garden Grocer and have it delivered to the resort right around our arrival time. It's usually at bell services when we check in. We order a case of bottled water, orange juice, milk, cereal, granola bars, fruit, chips, etc.. It's easier for us to eat breakfast in the room while everyone is getting ready, plus I like to have something in the room if we come back for a break in the afternoon, or a bedtime snack.

As far as I know the only way to have a microwave in your room is if you are staying in DVC room. We had one in Kidani.

You can always make instant oatmeal with hot water from in room coffee pot! Done that a bunch!

I think you missed the reason for minnie mum posting what she did. Some have apparently missed out on the OP's reading entertainment he has blessed some of us with the last day regarding the Boardwalk resort, a free trip, the wasteful spending of money on club level.............it has gone on trust me. Look for his recent postings and the threads that have been closed.;)
