Not really, I tend to be a very optimistic person, even in the face of tragedy. I've had quite a bit of tragedy in my life, so I think I learned to be this way as a defense mechanism pretty early on.

I don't think it takes very long, a couple of weeks, maybe.
This may only work for me but if I am getting down, I get very, very busy. If I sit around and think about how moody I feel, it gets worse. I find things to do so I am not focusing on me so much. It may only work for me.

Ditto that! I think I know how to fix my 'problem', but I'm not positively sure I want to do that yet. I know I dont like being like this (sad), but when things are good, they're really good. I guess I just need to decide what's more important...my sanity or other things.
