.....that something was meant to be.
I was told a couple of days ago that I had to move to a different office and do a different job to the one I had been doing for the last 10 months.
Obviously I was a little nervous as I was being taken out of my 'comfort zone' - but with the world being the way it is I thought it was best to just get on with it with the minimum amount of fuss.
The first thing I learnt when I arrived at my new office was that my 'room mate' was a chap from Malaysia and his name was Boo. This made me smile as it reminded me of Monsters Inc. - not that he looked anything like a female toddler of course, quite the opposite.
He then showed me around the building, pointing out the kitchen where I headed off to get a coffee. When I entered I glanced over to the mugs and smiled again when the first thing I saw was this
2 Disney references in as many minutes couldn't have been a bad sign could it?
Once I had my coffee I wandered back to the office. As it was mid morning I was feeling a little peckish so decided to have my apple.
Now, I'm not OCD or anything but with all the swine flu stuff going on and all the times I am expected to shake hands in this job (believe it or not it's not something I did that often until coming to the Middle East - but here everyone expects it from the CEO down to the guy who trims the palm trees) I find that I am a regular user of hand sanitizer.
As I got mine out and started to use it Boo looked and showed me his bottle, explaining that he started using his for the same reasons I did.
This was just a little too weird but I ended up spending the rest of the day looking for other Disney related items. I must admit I did start to struggle, but I guess thats because I was deliberately looking whereas the ones up to this point had been by chance.
It all certainly made me feel 'at home' and that somethings are definately meant to be
