Okay I have had family telling me that I should not go to DLP as we have been three times.

Also my mum saying we should not take dd to orlando untill she is a teenager as she won't be able to go on fast rides, and she will moan to much.

Disney is not all about rides..and from what I understand there is not much that she can not go on anyway.

Yes, dd did have the odd moment at DLP however they were plenty of times she was happy for example waiting 30minutes in a line as she wanted to meet Winnie the Pooh, watching the parade, feeling like a big girl as she went on BTM.

What does it have to do with them anyway, there are not going to be there.

Not quite the same but one year we had friends and family insist we try the Algarve. A place caled praia de Rocha (I think thats right) 2 families telling us it was best place they had been to another family saying they were thinking of buying out there it was so nice.
We gave in and went, We may as well have gone to Filey, there was nothing there a beutiful beach few shops and our hotel from hell(it did actually feature on hoidays from hell on tv)
Since this holiday about 7 years ago We have not taken any notice of anyone only what we want to do.

I constantly have to hear my Mum say we shouldn't be holidaying anywhere - never mind WDW -and that we should be saving our cash 'just in case'

It's only recently that I've learned to just listen, not say a word and get on planning our next trip-wherever that may be to :thumbsup2

Usually have to grab a glass, or two, of wine later to calm my temper but hey......................My Dad normally just passes it to me before I even ask...... :lmao:

I've stopped listening ~ I pay for the holidays and will holiday where I chose :)

In the end its your familiy you all do what you like, my kids were very young the first time they went to WDW, have also been to DLC and DLP,each year at a different age they see and like something else at WDW, but there is always something they like, Shows, rides, food, people, the cruise, anything, older kids might like Universal more.

Most friends and workmates all have opinions, especially about DLP and WDW

What I normally get is 'We would love to go to Florida but when the kids are older so they can appreciate it'.
I always think that is a dig as we have taken our DS since he was 2. So I explain that children's experiences are different depending on their age.
I was also once told 'We like to go to the Algarve as it is very relaxed and I don't want to be rushing around, I know that is your cup of tea though, planning' I had to laugh :rotfl:
I couldn't be bothered to explain that we tend to do Disney and then the beach.
Let's face it how can thousands of visitor each year be wrong?

Agree, both my kids were two when they first went, i remember my DD seeing the Epcot bus of characters go early due to light rain and having to stay there 60 mins for them to come back, she so enjoyed CRT as well. My DS Had Chip give him his bottle milk at Chef Mickeys and took a lot of time with him, he still has Chip as his favorite becuase of this some 7 years later.

They remeber, possbilly due to film now but from two onwards there is something special each time.

Hi thought you would like to know:-

Cyprus is the place to be

Could you 'deck' my garden please??

Most of our friends have pre-conceived ideas about Orlando and can never believe it when we say we are going "again". They think it's just for the children --- and find it impossible to believe that I actually enjoy it too! :)

Same as DCL People say the cruise ships are for kids, but as they are in the kids clubs, we can go to the adult pool, the adult beach at Casterway cay, the Spa the adult resturant etc.

You can have Disney or just an enjoyable cruise.

We thought orlando was the best place in the world, til we found DCL.
We are trying RCCL in a few weeks. We have friends that genuinely believe we won't want to go on DCL again after trying RCCL. Same friends can't believe we go to same place 2 and 3 times a year, they also can't understand why we would want to go away for 25 nights. They say "don't you get bored after a week" :rotfl2:
I would not get bored after 25 weeks :thumbsup2

Got DCL in a few weeks and booked DCL for the MED next year have done Princess cruises before, I must say after next year I must have a non Disney year, its good but expensive.

We get exactly the same thing from our family and friends. Most with pre-conceived ideas about what Florida and Disney is really like.

Others mentioning that our kids are too young to remember and therefore shouldnt go! The thing they seem to ignore is that we actually love going. We've been all over the place doing beach holidays like the rest of my family, but none of it seems to be anywhere near as much fun as Disney.

I say forget what your family say, if they 'dont get it', then they just dont get it.

I completely agree, when I was a kid, I always used to dream about going to Disney however it always seemed so out of reach then and some where I would never go. I want to go for me as well!

I don't mind the beach however its not something I can do for two whole weeks, I'd be so bored.

My Mum and Dad are going to Disney for the first time in september with my brother and sister who are in there late teens (past school age). people could say that she should not go because they are too old and won't enjoy it as much as a younger child!

As already meen mentioned Disney has stuff for all ages.
