Do you ever forget how old you are?

Last night I was talking to someone whose daughter I babysit for and I told her I was 19.. I don't know where that came from, because I know I'm not 19 yet. I was like "I mean, heck, I'm 19 and I still love the Easter Bunny!" And then I was like "Oh, I mean almost 19" :p

Every year I stand in front of a mirror every day for a week before my birthday practicing saying " I am __ yrs old." until I feel confident I can remember it at least until midnight on my birthday. I started doing this a few years ago when a SIL asked me [on my birthday] how old I was and I could not remeber.
On the clothes end of this thread many years ago, when my DW and her brothers and sisters were young, my MIL worked as a crossing gaurd near a local middle school. One morning she was running really late when she discovered that her uniform skirt needed to be pressed. She got the ironing board out in the kitchen while her children sat at the table eating breakfast. She took her skirt off and began pressing it then ran out the door to her car. Her oldest son was right behind her yelling "Mom---Mom---Mom" she said "Not now Michael I'm late" and he yelled back "But mom your skirt is still on the ironing board" LOL

I don't think I've ever forgotten how old I am.

Most definately. I have to do the math all the time to figure out how old I am. I think it's more of a reality thing. If I don't know how old I am off the top of my head, then maybe I'm not really that age.;)

I started to forget my age when I turned 33.I was making myself older, who knows why. I could remember before that but now I have to do the subtraction of the year. This year is better but if someone asked me on the spot I would probably make myself older. So I have decided I won't tell my age anymore. ;)

I always have a hard time remembering my age and I'm only 24!! Whenever someone asks me my age, I always say " I think I'm ___"

Yes.....especially this past year.

I had to laugh at this thread. My mother has this habit of saying "Well on my next birhday I'll be____, "even if it's the day after her birthday!! This drives me nuts because I never know how old anyone is including myself. My birthday is in November so it seems that automatically come Jan 1 ,I am one year older according to my mother. Sometimes I have to think. Funny, though my sister ALWAYS knows exactly how old I am, as I am older that she is and won't let me forget it!!! LOL!!!

I thought I was the only one who forgot how old I am!! I often ask my DH "am I 42 or 43?" Then I ask him "are you 34 or 35?" and then he has to think a minute before answering! So it doesn't matter if you're in your 30's or 40's I suppose! I'd bet that at least half these people that forget their age or to put clothes on :teeth: have kids! Right??

I can NEVER remember how old I am. I ask DH, he remembers for me. I stopped counting at 24. I even have my kids convinced of that! LOL!!!

24 forever.............for the record I think I'm 34?!

I did that just last night. LaToya Jackson was on some interview program last night and they mentioned that she was 46yo. I mentioned to my wife that she was the same age as me. I was immediately reminded that I am actually 47yo and my 48th birthday is just a couple of months away.

They say that the mind is the 2nd thing to go....

Well, I know that I am........ 29.....ummmmm.......39.......oooops 48!
Browneyes, shame on you for making me remember how old I am! I was happy with my delusions! ;) :D

I've been forgetting that for years but now that my kids are old enough to know, they constantly remind me!

It seems like I am starting early. I have to stop and think everytime someone asks me how old I am because I have to do the math. I have had that problem since I was about 24 or so. For the record I am 27 (but it took me about 5 seconds to figure that out).

Okay, I feel sooooo much better now! I can NEVER remember how old I am off the top of my head, and when I do actually remember, I still have to count it out to see if I'm right! LOL! I'm another "early forgetter" -- I've been forgetting since my teens, and I'm now 27, and usually when people ask I just say "20-something". Not because I don't want people to know, but because I can't remember without taking time to figure it out, and when I'm on the spot, it takes forever to figure out.

I thought I was the only one bad at ages.
(And to think Math was always one of my best subjects, and *still* I have horrible trouble with dates...)

As for clothes -- I've only done that once, and only got as far as out the bathroom door before I realized that I'd forgotten to switch from my pajamas top to my real shirt, so I had my nice pants, and a nice pajama top.

Philaround -- what a funny story!!! LOL!!

Yes! I think once I hit 35, I figured it really didn't matter much anymore. I'll always be 29.;)

I have a terrible time remembering how old I am! Glad to hear I'm not the only one.

DD was born a couple of months after my 30th birthday, so I use her age as a guide. For example, she just turned 12 so I know I am 42. Works like a charm. It'll only be bad if I start having trouble remembering how old SHE is too. LOL!

I don't have trouble, but Stephen just had a birthday and said how he couldn't believe he's 43. I reminded him he's only 42. He couldn't believe he didn't know how old he was.

I never left the house w/o clothing, but I have, on occasion, went to work w/o putting on my make-up. This happened a lot when I was in counseling on a particularly bad day. My boss would say, "Your session was tough last night, huh." And I'd ask how she knew, and she'd tell me I forgot to do my hair or put on my makeup. I also forgot my contacts a lot too. Not a good thing when you're a secretary.

I did go to the grocery store in my Mickey slippers once. So embarrassing.
