Do you ever find spoiler threads irresistible?

Background: I am currently reading The Hotel New Hampshire even though my new Harry Potter book was delivered on Saturday. This book has me laughing and crying, and I'm adament I will finish it before I begin HP.

So, last night, DH comes to bed and says, "I did a bad thing." What? He was on the Dis...what could he possibly do that would constitute a "bad thing?" Well, for some reason, he decided to read the Harry Potter spoiler thread, even though he reads the HP series too. Why would he do this?!! Apparently he has no self control. I swear I will pummel him if he "slips" and tells me what happens before I finish that book.

Yes, but don't tell my family!!!!!!!!! :earboy2:

OMG I live for spoiler threads. For my tv shows, movies. You name it I'll take a peek.

How much do I love spoiler threads? I've been reading the Harry Potter ones, even though I've never read any of the books & have no idea what people are talking about! :rotfl2:

Missy I do the same thing! Nice to have a kindred spirit in regards to spoilers!

LOL! :rotfl: Missy that cracked me up b/c I just spent 15 minutes of my life, that I will never get back, reading that HP spoiler thread. And I've NEVER read an HP book and I've only seen the 1st movie. I felt like they were talking in another language LOL...but still I read on AND got interested. I may have to pick up the books and start them LOL!

My favorite spoilers are for movies that I am SURE I'll never see (horror movies particularly). I can't watch them but I MUST know what happens...so I look for those spoilers LOL. I think it's some sort of illness.

Thanks for the chuckle tonight! :) Glad to know I"m not the only one out there!

Hi guys!

Glad I made a few of you laugh! I laugh at that habit of mine all the time, but I can't help reading. And AmyBeth68, I think I might try to read them too!

It took all the will power I had not to check that thread until I finished it. I'm talking about staying away from the DIS for a while just so I wouldn't check it! Now I'm ON TO THE SPOILER THREAD!!!! :)

Last night, I was teasing DH about something, and he threatened, "You better be careful...I might slip and tell you something about Harry Potter!"

And I replied, "Oh yeah, well I posted a thread all about you on the Community Board."

He didn't believe me, because he knows I don't start too many threads, but I guarantee he's keeping a close eye on this thread at work today.

Hi Kevin!!! :wave2:

OMG yes.

My 17 yr old (sport jock) nephew comes over to my house to find out what happens on "Days of our Lives". I read Kristin's e-online spoilers! I love finding things out before they happen.

Not me! I won't click on ANY Harry Potter thread until I'm done with the book, which won't be until after I come home from vacation next week. :sunny:

DS finished though, and he's DYING to spill what he knows. Poor thing, he's only 10, so this is the first time he's had a BIG secret with no one to confide in! :rotfl:

I made my DH REALLY angry when I told him who was going to win AR after reading a spoiler here. (BTW the spoiler was right). He is still angry. I am no longer allowed to share the spoilers with him.

(OT, is there an award for being the poster who most often starts a new page? I seem to do it alllll the time!)

I started reading the Harry Potter thread before I was done with the book. I literally slapped myself on the hand and didn't get back on the DIS until I was finished. But with all of the extra time I had not DISing I finished the book by Sunday.

I'm dying to read the HP book discussion. It is taking all of my willpower not to open that thread until I have finished the book. I have about 300 pages to go so hopefully by Monday I will be able to participate.

I am the type of person who wants to know how movies and books end before she watches/reads them,so yes, I find them irresistible.

I will usually flip to the back of the book to see if the main characters are still alive before I start reading. Silly, I know, but I want to know that the people I am reading about will still be around at the end of the book.

There are also movies that I won't watch b/c I've gotten friends to tell me how they end. I don't want to watch movies with a sad ending. People say, that's life. I tell them, "No, it's a movie. When I want real life, I watch the news. "
