Do you ever do signups?

...I've done a few just for the points. NetFlix was one. I actually kept it for a month but after having to drive to the post office to mail the DVDs when my mailman kept missing them, I quit.

I also joined Connections123 to buy food vouchers for WDW and then quit before my free 30 days were over. I didn't feel too bad about that one since they were very vague with their descriptions about the program benefits until after you signed up.

Usually I pass up those points because I'm afraid that I'll either forget to cancel the program or some peanut-brain on the other end will screw up the cancellation for me.

I am terrible about keeping up with things like that so I find it better if I just don't do them..

I'm with Mal. I don't want to worry about having to cancel, so I just stay away.

The only things I ever signed up for are things like UPromise (I signed up through a MyPoints email a year or two ago). It took me months to go back and actually figure out what I should be doing with UPromise, so poor DS missed out on a few pennies towards his college education. :)

I did the AOL/Mypoints one. It worked even though I already had an AOL account.

Most of them, right after you get the confirmation emal (Welcome to ...) you can cancel right then and there and still get the points. Some of them you ahve to call and cancel and listen to them whine and try to convince you to stay, but just keep saying "I want to cancel, I want to cancel ...".

I was looking through my acct last night and realized I never got my points for trying out CompleteHome (did get my free Home Depot gift cards, though!). I need to contact MyPoints about that one. That was 200 points!!! The offer on the website right now is a free George Foreman grill and 200 points (trial is $1).

Got an email about signing up for one (think it was Buyser's Assurance) for 400 points. Didn't do that one, but I might change my mind if I get another email (think the regular link on the website is only 200 points).

I will say it was like pulling hen's teeth to cancel that Ancestry.com one, though. Took forever to reach anyone on the phone, and the guy would not let up!
