We do, it takes about 9 1/2 hours and we are crazy by the time we get out of the car.

Yes we do, I hate to fly, it takes 18 hours and I love it!

We drive mostly but have been known to fly. You have a short trip compared to us so I do not think you are crazy. We are 14 hours away and drive down twice a year with a now 5 y/o. DD has been driven to WDW 5 times since she was 2 y/o. We love to drive and we make it part of the vacation. We take our time going down and usually stop over 2 nights but sometimes only one. We are going down in a couple of weeks and have already got my supplies of things for DD to do. I bought new books, CSs, DVDs, little toys, etc. I also make sure I stop over at a hotel that has an indoor pool for her to burn off her stored up energy. As many times as we've driven we've never had an unpleasant experience and look forward to the next trip.

I drove from Conyers (outside of Atlanta) a few times, and from Marietta. I also drove from the DC area once. I alsawys compare the time - driving or getting dropped off at the airport, checking in 2 hours ahead of time for security, the length of the flight, the possibility of delays in ATL, the wait for the luggage in MCO, the rental car wait. If the time is near equal, I will drive, even though I just park the car and leave it for the time I am there. I wouldn't do it from here (1 hr north of Boston) unless I was able to stop once or more each way. And that takes up way too much of my time in the world. It's also only me ever going, that's why it's way too long to drive now.

Yes, yes I do. Sometimes it can take me up to an agonizing 15 minutes to get there...but then I remember just to stay off of I-4 and I can make it in 10 minutes. :duck:

We drive and fly, whatever works best at the time. I like driving because it gives me time to "decompress" after WDW. When I fly, I'm home in 2 hours and it's like a shock. :p

Yes, it takes us about 16 hours and we love it as well. We love making the drive part of the vacation and seeing all the sights. I also hate flying so it is better for us. Luckily, we have 2 great little travelers!

We do! But we also fly!!

We leave on Friday around 1 PM for our 24 hour drive to the world. Hoping to arrive by dinner time on Saturday.

We stop in VA/NC area for a quick 6-8 hour nap and then back on tthe road again................

I ride, but Chris does all the driving. It takes us abot 7 hours.

We drive from southeastern PA. It takes about 15 hours. With 5 DDs, it's pretty expensive to fly for us. My dad lives in Daytona Beach, so we usually will drive straight through to his house. We spend the night there, and then go to WDW the next morning. My kids have driven to Florida, many times and are usually pretty good about it.

We always drive. It takes us 9-10.5 hours depending on Atlanta traffic.

We drive. 16 hours total, split in 2. 1st leg - Ohio to South Carolina. 2nd leg - South Carolina to Orlando.

We drove to WDW last october, it took 22 hours. It was totally fine. We take a lap top for the kids to watch DVD's on, plus coloring books, etc.

In June we will be driving 24 hours to Disneyland...looking forward to the change in scenery!!!

Um, no.

I wouldn't even drive to DL! That would be an 18 hour drive unto itself. Flying all the way! When I lived in San Jose, DL was about a 6 to 6 1/2 hour drive and that was completely, 100% acceptable.

Nope... haven't ridden in a car down there since I was 6 years old. I usually go by myself and it is a 1000 mile drive from here (and not very direct either). It would take me at least 2 days to get down there (having to stop for sanity sake) and considering that air is usually $250 or less there is no point in putting all those miles on my car for just one person. And especially with deals like I just got ($136/person) there is no way I'd drive. It may change if more than two of us ever go.

We mostly fly, but this May we are doing a road trip. Gives DH and I some time together we normally wouldn't have to just talk etc.

On the way home we're stopping in TN to see relatives which will be nice.

I'd hate to have to drive every time, but every couple of years i love a good road trip.

2 hr flight vs 20 hr drive.............you do the math.

Would never spend 20 hrs in a car and waste 2 days of vacation each way driving.Flying is the only choice for us.::yes::

We always drive. It's about 8 hours or so, and it's a very nicely split up drive. We drive from Marietta down to Valdosta, where we have a tradition of stopping at Cracker Barrel for lunch. By the time we reach Valdosta, we're halfway there. Then we drive on down to Ocala where we have another tradition of stopping at the Official Disney Information Center--it really gets us in the "Hey, we're actually going to WDW" mood. Then it's not far at all until we pass under those terrific "Welcome to Walt Disney World" gates--aaahhh, home. :)
