Do you drink martinis? I need help

OK, here are some recipes that look similar to the martinis I liked:

Cosmopolitan Cocktail (this is well known - you should definitely have this one):
1 1/4 ounces Absolut Citron vodka (about 2 1/2 tablespoons)
1/4 ounce Rose's lime juice (about 3/4 tablespoon)
1/4 ounce triple sec or Cointreau (about 3/4 tablespoon)
1/4 cup cranberry juice
1 cup ice cubes
Garnish: lime twist
In a cocktail shaker combine all ingredients. Shake well and strain into a Martini glass.
Garnish drink with lime.

Lychee Martini recipe:

Scale ingredients to servings
1 1/2 oz Soho® lychee liqueur
1 oz Soho® lychee liqueur
1 oz vodka
1 dash lychee juice

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with/without ice. Shake well, strain into a cocktail glass, and serve.

And here's a cool site with lots of recipes and party planning:

Sounds like fun!

While I havent tried it (yet), there is one on the menu for Marthas Vineyard Lounge at the Beach club that looks incredible...an Oreo Mintini. :)

ooohhhhh forgot about the Oreo cookie martini!! Those are awesome!!

Lemon drop martini (yum) but I gotta have sugar around the rim of the glass!

I am a bit of a purist , so , for me , a martini is gin , neully praty ( or with vermout and an olive ( or too or 3).

Since for me , vodka has no taste , it has to be gin ( Bombay !!!!!)

If , a few days before the party , you marinate your olives in vermouth ( or Neully Pratt) , you only need the gin and the olives , for a very dry Martini.

I Usually put ice cubes in a shaker , then 1 1/2 once gin ans a capfull of vermouth , and shake violently for a good ten seconds , then , pour the amazind liquid in a martini glass. Garnish with just as many olives as you like. ( But you can use sour onions for a version called gibson !)

Oh man, I think I might have to have a martini tonight. What great ideas...

But I wanted to suggest to the OP that you create a cute menu card that you can sit on the table and name the drinks after the guest of honor somehow. Like if she likes to golf, call one the Fore!tini or Puttini (and its really an appletini). I'm sure you can do better than that, but its a fun way to spice up the theme.

Great ideas!

I do love a Key Lime Pie Martini with a glass rimmed in graham cracker crumbs.

If we had any cream at the office I would make some for Friday afternoon cocktail hour at 3:00 p.m.

Maybe a road trip to the store is needed!

Here's the ones you'll need:

The first 3 are a given:

Manhattan:
1.5oz bourbon
.5oz sweet vermouth
cherry

Vodka/Gin Martini:
2oz vodka or gin
a dash of dry vermouth (none if they ask for dry)
garnish with lemon twist or olive (or pearl onion if it's a gibson)
(add olive juice if it's dirty)

Cosmopolitan:
1oz vodka
.5 oz triple sec
.5 oz cranberry juice
lemon twist

Now here's what I'd also have:

Appletini:
1oz vodka
.5 apple pucker
.5 lemon sweet & sour
cherry

Lemondrop:
2oz vodka
half a squeezed lemon
3 packets of sugar in the mix
sugar the rim & add a lemon wedge

Chocolate Cake:
1oz vanilla vodka
1oz frangelico
sugar the rim & add a sugared lemon wedge
(it really tastes like chocolate cake)

Pineappletini:
1oz vodka
1oz pineapple juice
cherry

Chocolate Martini:
1oz vodka
.5oz godiva chocolate white
.5oz godiva chocolate
garnish with a chocolate shaving if you have the time & inclination

BTW if someone asks for a "perfect martini", that means you'll add equal parts of dry & sweet vermouth.

That's the Cosmo recipe I use, but I also add some fresh squeezed lemon juice. :drinking1

Where's my invite??? :confused3

Espresso Martini

Equal parts:

Vanilla Vodka
Kahlua
Cold espresso or strong coffee

Shake with ice, strain, float 1/4" heavy cream on top & garnish with grated chocolate.

There is a bartender at the Adventurers Club who made me a peach martini...whoa. I am going back and have some more.

1 oz cold Espresso
1 1/2 oz Vodka (Absolut)
1 1/2 oz Kahlua
1 oz white Creme de Cacao
Mixing instructions:
Pour ingredients into shaker filled with ice, shake vigorously, and strain into chilled martini glass. It should be somewhat frothy.

Wow, you are all the best. I think the martini bar will be a hit. I even found a store where I can buy all of the extras. I just order online and pickup at the store.

How about a 40ini? Fortini? Okay, that needs work.

I love lemon drop martinis. They are easy to make: Mix equal parts fresh squeezed lemon juice and vodka then add sugar to taste. Serve in a chilled martini glass with a sugared rim. :drinking1

They are awesome, until you puke them out your nose (and yes, I know this from experience) :rotfl:
