Hello all! Will be heading to THE WORLD on 11/28 and staying through 12/5. I am plannng on just getting regular 5 day hoppers with no pluses, doing a day at Universal and taking a day off. I was wondering though, how many of you out there go to the only open water park in Dec (I think it is BB)? We have gone to WDW in Dec the last two trips and have never done a water park (did do TL on a May trip), and every time we stopped at BB on the way to DD, no one ever got off or on the buses. Is it just to cold? Do they heat it? My son and DH would love DQ, so now I am considering getting UMP's but really it would be a waste if we didn't do BB at least once or twice. What do you all think?? Thanks!

It just depends on how warm it is when you are there. You never know at that time of year. They do heat the water but you will be in and out if it all day so I wouldn't go unless it is in the 70's. We went the week before Christmas a few years ago and Typhoon Lagoon once during Thanksgiving and both were fine; just like July in Oregon.;)

This past December we were in WDW from the 6-13. I wouldn't have wanted to go to a waterpark, it was pretty cool during the day. I think it only warmed up to the low 70's on two of our days. We used the resort pool a little the one day, but I wouldn't want to be walking around a waterpark when it is that cool.

We were down there in December 99 and 01. I believe it was in 01 that we spent a day at Blizzard Beach...it was a hot 90 degree day...nothing like laying out in the sun while listenting to christmas carols! :)

I know the past few decembers have been chilly...but I guess we just got lucky in 2001.

We went to Blizzard Beach on this past New Years Eve day ...The temp that day was 83...It was wonderful...We didn't by the "plus" passes though because you never can count on the weather...We were there 12/27-1/1 and the weather was in the high 70's to low 80's everyday, we could wear shorts and a light jacket evenings! How lucky were we????

On our 03 Christmas trip, we were able to go to BB on 12/31! It only got a little chilly very late in the afternoon. We really had a great day at the water park. We rested a bit and then we headed out to watch fireworks at MGM.

Well, I am from Massachusetts and we were down there the first week of December. My dad and I went to Typhoon Lagoon and it started off chilly, but had a great day, no crowds. I think the day ended up being just around 70, but it was fine for us.

We've been several times in Dec and Jan including this past January around New Year's Day.

I personally think it's where you are coming from that makes the difference. Living in Vegas I am guardedly optimistic that I will swim at BB this December. Prior to 1996 when we lived in NJ, we swam in Florida in Dec. and Feb. without blinking an eye!!! I'm positive the kids will do it no matter what the temp, but as for me.....

We have hoppers, and I'm going to keep the schedule fairly open, so if we get a good day, we'll be there!!!
