Do You Color Coordinate Your Meals?

Tonight, when I had to choose a vegetable to go with dinner, I opted for green beans instead of corn, because I felt I already had too many dishes in the yellow/tan range.

Am I the only one who does this?

ummmm....I'm thinking, YEAH!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: Just kidding.

Whoa, you are some kind of freaky one. :teeth:

I thought everyone did. I always feel kind of silly if I don't - like if I serve fish, potatoes, and corn - and find myself apologizing.

Can't really say that I color coordinate my meals, but I do make sure we have a meat, a starch and a vegetable.

Yes I do. I try to have a green, red/yellow and yellow/white veggie.

For example, I'll serve green beans, tomatoes and corn.

I do it too - I can't stand to do too many things in one family. Even too much green is a problem...

You need help!! And not picking out color cooridinated foods!!! :rotfl2:

They say a plate with lots of different colors is well balanced and better for you..... go for it.

I know, when it comes to cooking I am weird Charade :rotfl2:

I do it.

Once I had no choice but to serve chicken breast, mashed potatoes and cauliflower. It really bothered me. I felt like I was short-changing my family's nutrition by not having much (er, any) color.

We sometimes have orange night, mac n' cheese, carrots and orange slices. The kids like it and I still get a fruit and veggie into them!

I do that too.

I can remember my Mother saying that a meal was all yellow or tan and that was not a good thing.

No stewed tomatos with spaghetti.

Are you just trying to noticed by the tag fairy?

I've never thought of such a thing as color co-ordinating my food.

Nope, I do it too!
I serve green veggies with chicken because corn and chicken look too blah.

I don't know whether to :rotfl2: or what to think :scratchin

Color-coordinated food? :confused3

Well at least I am not completely alone. I've probably been overly influenced by all those gorgeous food pictures in magazines.

I make sure we have a variety of colors at dinner. It's more nutritious, and it looks more appetizing. Not only do I do it for just the one meal, but I try to make sure we get a variety of colors in the fruits and vegetables we eat over a day. So if we've snacked on oranges and apricots during the day, we won't have carrots or sweet potatoes for dinner.
