hi

1- do you guys carry bottles of water throughout the parks? or

2- can you get enough free water from counter service so you dont have to carry it? .

1- Some guests prefer that, as they have it with them at all times.

2- But, many just opt for that. We do.

I carry water bottles and when there aren't any left, I use the last one to refill at water fountains. I always have to have water with me when at the theme parks

Yes, I find it easier to fill up at water fountains as needed than to wait in lines. Though a cold cup is nice once or twice. We will also take those individual packets of kool-aid or crystal light (for 8oz) and shake them up in our water bottles for a little taste!

We carry a Brita water bottle with us. We just fill it from the water fountains or water from CS places. I don't want to be weighted down with a bunch of water. I would also think the water would get hot in the Florida heat.

Yes, we do that too! I always carry them with me. I even use them at work.

It is definitely free at cs, however that means you wait in line for it and have to throw it away before each ride. We carry the small size bottles on our Mickey clips. Everyone carries their own and refills their own. The small bottles are light enough for even a 3 or 4 yr old to carry if they wear a pant with a belt loop. Incidentally, that also helps me make sure everyone has had water each day. Our rule is no sodas or anything else until you have finished your water at least once. If you have folks w/o belt loops, they coul also put it in one of those string back packs w/o it being too heavy. My kids also carry their own rain slickers in their bags, plus any snacks they want.

I am planning on bringing water bottles, but also thought I might get a coke once through the day. So, I will have to finish it before doing anything else? If I bring a souvenir type cup (not Disney resort), can I pour things in that and not have to get rid of it? Sorry, it's been awhile, and I don't remember the guidelines.

We are DVC and have a frig with a freezer. We freeze water bottles so that they stay cold longer in the park and we have a bottle holder with it.

Bottles of coke are available in the parks.

We carry water into the parks. I drink of ton of water in everyday life so no way could I survive Disney without a water bottle. I buy the 16.9 oz size bottles and I take a Sharpie with me. I put our initial on the top of each lid (G, S, K, W) so we can tell them apart. I'm lucky our names all start with a different letter. I refill mine at water fountains even though the water taste nasty to me. My husband will throw his away when he's done with his water. The water does get warm, but I don't really mind that.

I brought bottles ONCE. It was heavy and I got tired of taking off that backpack every time someone wanted a drink. I also got tired of dealing with it on the rides. I can't blame my family, I didn't want to carry my own bottle.

Now I just factor in the cost of bottled water when calculating our budget. We bought one bottle for each person last time ($2.50 each); the rest of our water came from CS.

I've never had the need nor ambition to carry a bottle of water......fountains suit me fine. We never purchased any for the resort room either...again....the water at the resort is also fine. We're not bottled water people, we're not going to go thirsty in a park in a day either. The person who started this craze is making a ton of money but not from us, free water is everywhere.

When we go in the heat of the summer, I can't imagine not having bottled water with us. Everyone is responsible for carrying a bottle (we like the carabiner clips) and we take a bag with a second bottle for everyone. We usually take a break mid-day so we get more water from our room then. And we usually have water with our lunch instead of soda.

I'd rather have the water with us than wait in line at a CS place for it. Usually when my kids start to get grumpy it means they haven't had enough water.

They won't let you take open food or drinks on rides. It is fine to carry them through the park, you just can't take it in an attraction.

You rebel! I do like your POV and I want to be like you. Imagine the plastic we could save. Imagine the money that we could save!

Yes and Yes.

While getting water from CS places is free, it is also time consuming. IfI were to rely solely onthat I would end up putting it off and getting dehydrated - except on WDW coldest days perhaps. May is an especially important tieto stay hydrated. Since it's late spring, WDW will be warmer than many more northen places (depends a bit where you are coming from)and your body is not yet accilmated to summer heat.

On the othe hand, the amount of water one can drink on a hot is day quite a bit.

As a result, we tend to do both: drink a full cup of water with every meal AND carry bottled water. If you've got stroller, carrying a good amount of water is fairly simple, and you may not need to refill. If you don't ahve astroller or only have one for a large group - it is a better idea to refill bottles.

Native FLorida water infamously has a funny taste. Mostly now now though it is filtered in most WDW locations, so it's not as much of an issue as it once was. Even when it's not filtered, it's still best just to deal with it.

The consequences of getting dehydrated will ruin a vacation. It is very easy to wlak around inthe heat and not realize you are getting dehydrated until it's too late. Better to make a habit of drinking plenty of the RIGHT liquid: water. Not coffee. Not alcohol.
