Do you call the night before?

When I have stayed at other hotels (including All Star Movies), I have called the night to make sure the reservation is fine, etc. The last time I called All Star Movies directly, I got a really nice CM and asked to if he could place us in a building close to the pool. He said he already took care of us and we would love the location.
I know you make requests when booking your reservation. Does anyone call the front desk directly before they go to check on your reservation?

I have never called the front desk before to make requests. I have called MS if I could not find (or never received) my written confirmation just to make sure that non-smoking for medical reasons was listed on the reservation. I guess I have just always taken my chances with the room we received, and so far we have always been happy.:)

Good luck...maybe others can give you more info.

You probably don't really get the front desk anyway, but a call center.

not so much. With dvc sometimes we get a really great room, sometimes maybe less great, but they are all great and karma balances it out over time. For example, we had a great lobby 2-bedroom at wlv, the next time we had a handicap accessible 1-bedroom, the next time a really great lobby 1-bedroom. At BCV we've had great upper-story epcot views a couple of times (in fact we've had the same room 3 times), and more mundane views a couple of times. Your going back so don't sweat it. If you have requests you make them when you make the reservation and they will do their best. No need to call and bug them.
