I just wonder how many actually bother to call and check airlines, resorts, limos,PS for changes.

I check to verify my reservations, confirmation # etc. I think it just makes me feel better that everything is okay. Don't get me wrong ... things still can go wrong.

Airline is up to DH, I won't call Disney to confirm our reservations there, because I have so far received 7 copies of the same one for what reason I don't know. I will call and confirm our towncar and all of my PS.

Perhaps I am a bit obsessive, but I usually call about 45 days in advance and then again one week in advance. If you just waited until 7 days before and there was a problem it might be much tougher to fix. At least if there is a problem at 45 days out you still have a chance of fixing the problem. I reconfirm EVERYTHING.... meal PSs, rental car, hotel, air travel...HTH.....P

As a hotel clerk, YES call at least once before your due to arrive. This is very important.

There are two things that cause errors. Computer and human error.

The first can be caused by pretty much anything. We have had entire mainframes wiped out during a thunderstorm (even with the protector on) and "poof" there goes the reservations.

Or maybe the computer doesn't save it like we told it too.

They are computers after all. Things happen.

As for human error, there is no excuse really except that no one is perfect.

To save yourself the aggravation, call ahead to be sure because if they lost it and they are full, your out of luck.

Who me? The obsessive planner? Call to confirm reservations?:p

Like others here, I call or email in advance, sometimes one month ahead and then one week before we leave. It pays to be prepared!:earsgirl:

Called the resorts, budget rental, limo service, stopped mail & papers and paid ALL bills. I separated all tickets into appropriate envelopes(lodging, transportation and entertainment). I have 8 copies of my E-ticket!! I guess I was afraid I'd lose it or something!!I think 3 copies will do me fine!
Made out intruction sheet for my brother(staying at my house to "vacation"
with my dogs). All that's left is to pack!!!!

Me being the planner of the WDW vacation... you bet I check everything twice or more. I do not want my family to be disappointed in anyway when we are at the happiest place on earth. It is a simple thing to do and it could prevent potential problems. There is a lot of responsibility that goes with being the "planner" (all you obsessive planners... you know what I'm talking about)

Who do you call seven days before arriving to confirm your reservations when you buy a package? Do you call CRO or the resort? This is a first time for me and I would like everything to go as smooth as possible.

merry:wave: :wave2:

I would call WDTC to confirm a package, 407-w-disney. They'll ask for your confirmation number I think.

Have a great trip!

I'll be calling to confirm my towncar tomorrow (a week away). DH will be calling restaurants (not to confirm, but to let them know about the food allergies). Better safe than sorry, right?

Don't call the WDTC. Now, I know they would like you to. They will tell you that everything is all set.

But central reservations agencies are not the best to count on for that. Just because it says in their computer that the reservation is in the system, doesn't mean its in the hotels system.

Call the hotel directly. This way you can be sure that everything is exactly as you want it. Your not booking through the hotel after all, just checking your reservation.
