I guess I am one of the last people on earth who still consider a nickel, "money", and its bad enough that roast beef at the deli is on SALE for $6.79 per pound. But does anyone actually spend $10 a pound for sliced Boars Head roast beef at the deli? Or $8.99 for sliced chicken? I buy that when it is on sale for $5.99. Maybe because I am buying for at least 5 people when I grocery shop but I can't imagine spending that much on cold cuts.

I only buy Boars Head, nothing else. It is the brand that Publix carries and I really like their turkey breast. I have bought one too many other brands that ended up being slimy....ewww.

I don't buy cold cuts very often but when I do I get Boar's Head. They really do taste better than other brands.

Cold cuts get consumed so fast in my house that I don't think that they actually get tasted. When everyone moves out, I will buy it for DH and I. ;)

I buy different brands of cold cuts. Boars Head is ok, but I don't think it's the only game in town (although it's getting harder to find other brands around here).

Yeah, I can understand that. I have 3 older brothers and during their teen years I think my mom went to the store everyday. They'd think nothing of having a big dinner and then 20 minutes later making a sandwich  . I know she wouldn't have wasted Boars Head on them.

I only buy Boar's Head deli meats from Publix. If you look at the labels for their meats they hardly use any preservatives. They really do taste different from other brands. I buy low sodium ham and chicken breast which is usually about $8.00/lb. Their cheeses taste different too....try a swiss cheese by Boar's Head and then try the store brand/another brand.....taste the difference.

I do buy store brand breads/milk/eggs....but I am very picky when it comes to my deli meats.

I like Thumans deli meats and I can only buy it at BJ's warehouse. Thumans have no MSG and lower in sodium than most brands. Boars Head is good but not for the price.

We don't get deli meat that often so I buy Boar's Head when we do. My favorites are the maple glazed honey coat ham and the pastrami seasoned turkey.

Not sold in my area of MN as fa as I know. We're in Hormel Land. Oscar Mayer rules.

herc.

I buy Hormel Salami, Boars Head Roast Beef, Turkey and Ham, store brand american cheese, and whatever swiss or provolone is on sale. Cheese is cheese in our house- but we're picky about everything else.

All I buy is Boars Head, except for cheese I'm lessy pick about cheese. Once in a while DH will buy store brand ham or turkey, by the time I cut out all of the yucky stuff I only have 3/4's of a slice.

I very seldom buy deli meats. Like almost never. DH buys lunch meat when he's in NJ, he gets the Wegman's brand or whatever is cheapest, and eats turkey or ham, never the more expensive things like roast beef. The one thing he's pretty set on is this one type of cheese, fortunately it's Wegman's brand, so it's reasonable.

Funny you should mention Wegman's brand. It is very good, and IMO, comparable to Boar's Head in taste and quality. If I'm in Wegman's, that's what I'll buy. Otherwise, I only buy Boar's Head or Thumans.

I only by boars head , My kids won't eat any other kind.

I do buy the Boars head roast beef and chicken. I have a very skinny 10 year old that loves the stuff. He has never bought his lunch at school in 5 years. He's a very picky eater. So I don't mind. He doesn't eat it every day either. Maybe every other or third week.

I rarely buy cold cuts. When I do I buy them from the Italian store.

What is so good about Boars Head?
