Do you buy your souvenirs in the park?

I have bought a few shirts and they seem to be high quality in the park and last forever. I also bought a pen in the park that was pricy but works great. And I like the official tattoos on the stuffies.
I buy in the park.

Yes, but we limit ourselves. Our daughters get gift cards in advance that they can use to buy anything they want. This past trip they each had $135 to spend at WDW, so they came home with lots of goodies. I determine before we even leave home what I'd like to buy. I normally like to buy Christmas tree ornaments that will remind us of the trip for years to come. I'm not sure if I could get the ornaments I bought in the park online, but I do think it is special to pick them out while we're there as a family.

I also get my stuff in the parks. It allows me to get the perfect item. I will look at all the ornaments of a character and pick the one with the least amount of flaws. That's just who I am!!

When the kids were smaller we did a mixture of both - no high priced stuffed animals there when I could get them at the Disney outlet etc. Now that they are 8 and 12 they get money to spend and spend it how they want (usually around $100 each) - usually a star wars light saber, trading pins, vinylmation, maybe a t-shirt, etc. I typically only buy kitchen décor or Christmas ornaments. I have bought a couple shirts and a hoodie over the years but don't tend to wear that much if we aren't in the parks.

We usually give each child a gift card and they chose to spend it how they want. Most of the time when they were younger they didn't even last passed the big World of Disney store. But now some are older and wait to get a special shirt or towel.
The little kids we sometimes get them small stuff from the Kissimee Target or Walmart.

I tend to order stuff from the Disneystore.com throughout the year, but if I see something unusual or limited edition, if it is a pin, lanyard, or collectible (like vinylmation, art prints, etc. or party/event related) then I will buy it in the park. T-shirts I usually buy outside the park. Ornaments, mostly in the park.

My daughter can have one item from the parks. When she was 5 and 6 years old she would receive small Disney items each morning when she woke up and at Disney. This helped to keep her excited with each morning gift.

We don't have kids, so I don't have to worry about that. DH and I do generally buy quite a few souvenirs when we are there. All the things we've gotten have been decent quality.

I usually always grab a disney coffee mug in the park every time we go... We will buy a mix of items outside and inside the park though. I advice looking at items outside first to see what they have and then compare the price/item to what you can get in the park. Sometimes you can buy a similar or same item outside the park for half the price.

We don't buy many souvenirs, unless it's something we can't get elsewhere. Last trip we bought the Starbucks mugs from each park, and a hat from Art of Animation. We also let the kids each choose something. Two years ago DD5 (at the time) chose the Anna & Elsa 12" dolls and we got Mickey & Minnie stuffies for the baby who was 16 months at the time. Last year we had the grandmothers along with us so the kids got a lot more junk bought for them - balloons, plastic bracelets, light up toys, etc. But it wasn't my money and it made them happy to buy for their grandkids, so I let it go. DD6 also got into the pressed pennies. We bought a book for them so she can keep collecting on future trips.

By the time of our next trip they will be 8 and 4, so I plan to give them each a gift card and let them choose what they want. Older DD is already saving up her tooth fairy money and change she finds to put towards it.

Sometimes it's hard not to ;) We like the pressed pennies, usually buy a pin or two, and an ornament for our tree (luckily our tree is only Santas so it has to be a Santa Mickey/character and there's not always a big selection). My daughter gets a budget (her money) and I like to buy a little something for a couple co-workers and friends (maybe $10 or less each).

If I buy something it is in the parks or World of Disney. I always found it odd that people would by stuff outside of the parks (at home - dollar tree, walmart, etc) simply because it is cheaper. To me these are not souvenirs.

It depends I bought many things off disneystore.com with great discounts. For our December trip I was able to get the Christmas light ears for $7 those are items I was going to get already. I shop the Disney app and sometimes we buy stuff at the parks. This last trip we got a few mugs and DH a polo shirt.

I usually do a spending limit of about $80-$100/day in souvenirs and thats for the whole family whether its in the park or outside the park. I am sure when my kids get older though the souvenirs will be more limited, LOL

I tend to buy things that I will use at home on a daily bases, Unique Pot holders, cooking utensils (mickey themed--Mickey shaped). I use them so much that by the time Our next trip come up I wear them out and have to buy more (mostly the pot holders)

We don't buy much anymore. Years ago, each park (and often each store) had unique merchandise (even tee shirts) and we liked to shop and find those things. Then Disney made most merchandise generic and we could find the same stuff in most places so we cut back on shopping. Then Disney made merchandise available on their app and we could order online. Of course it's still the generic stuff so no interest here. We do shop in Epcot WS and find some interesting things there at times but a lot of the really unique stuff is long gone.

I will be replacing a bunch of ornaments that I have bought over the years, on my September trip. A friend was helping me move and broke 95% of the ones that I had purchased on previous vacations.

Dooney & Bourke handbag, chamilia beads, pins, Christmas ornaments, kitchen items, scrapbooking stuff, jewelry, a watch, tote bag, antenna toppers....just a few of the things I bought on our last trip.

We always pick up something from the parks. Either something per indvidual or together as a family. I limit each child to $30, which is enough for them.

Our next trip will be with our almost 5 year old Granddaughter, her first. I plan to do a "good girl" card for her. A special Disney GC that will be for her to buy something special everyday, her choice. I'm, looking forward to it.
